Johannesburg. The battle field is all set for 3rd test match clash of India vs South Africa test series. India will be definitely looking forward to win this test to save its honor as world’s No. 1 test team. Leaving behind all bitter memories of last two matches, Virat Kohli’s Team, who has lost this Test series against South Africa, now has the challenge to save its reputation.
Wanderers has always been wonderful for India:
The third Test of India vs South Africa will be played on Wednesday (January 24) at Wanderers ground in Johannesburg. This field is quite lucky for India. India never suffered a test here. India has played 4 Tests here, in which one win, while three draws. Team India will look after to continue its good record here at Wanderers, while the host will be looking to improve their record here.
Changes in Indian Team line up are certain:
Team India is still looking for the right combination at the moment. Its bowlers are performing well and in both the tests they put down all 20 wickets of the opposition team but, still there is some space to be filled. Jasprit Bumrah, who shocked everyone making place in the team squad in both Tests, will be out this time. Bhuvneshwar Kumar will occupy his place in team, who was surprisingly out of last two matches.
The main problem is that the Indian batsmen are not able to perform according to the expectations and their reputation. Only Virat Kohli and Hardik Pandya are looking good so far, as far as batting department is concerned. Rohit Sharma could have scored only 78 runs so far in the series but, still his chance to sit on bench is very limited.
Ajinkya Rahane is constantly practicing on the net since team’s arrival here. So it seems he is going to make his place in final eleven for the last test. Dinesh Karthik could also replace Parthiv Patel as wicket keeper.
Effect on India’s No. 1 Ranking:
If South Africa succeeded to win the last test match as well then also India will be ranked No.1 in Test ranking but, not that firmly. However both the teams will be equalized by 118 points then but, South Africa will be ranked below India, when the points are calculated beyond the decimal point. So in upcoming series it will be difficult for India to maintain it’s No. 1 spot in Test ranking.
