With the help Hardik Pandya’s best performance in Test cricket as maiden 5 wicket haul, Team India rapped England for 161 runs in the first innings on the second day of the third Test and scored 124 runs in the second innings to take the total lead of 292 runs.
India still have eight wickets left and Cheteshwar Pujara (33*) along with captain Virat Kohli (8*) is on the crease. India lost the wickets of Shikhar Dhawan (44) and KL Rahul (36) in the second innings.
Earlier, for the Indian team, who scored 329 in the first innings, Pandya, performed his best in Test cricket bowling, took five wickets for 28 runs. This is Pandya’s maiden 5 wicket haul in Test cricket.
England lost ten wickets after lunch and the entire team returned pavilion in 38.2 overs only. Pandya, first of all got Joe Root to the hands of KL Rahul in the second slip. England reviewed this decision, but failed.
In his next over, Pandya and Rahul sent back Jani Bairstow (15). England were 108 for five wickets in the 30th over. Pandya took the next three wickets from 31st to 33rd over within three balls and during this time he was also on the hat-trick. Hero of the last match Chris Woaks (8) and Adil Rashid (5) became the next victim of Pandya.
