ENG vs IND 5th Test: Gavaskar flared on Karun Nair’s omission from playing XI

ENG vs IND 5th Test: Former Indian captain Sunil Gavaskar has once again flared up on the selection of Team India’s playing XI. At the same time, he has expressed his displeasure over the changes in the playing XI for the last and final Test against England (ENG vs IND 5th Test) and has raised questions.

Indeed, Team India has made two changes in its playing eleven in the last and final match of the five-match Test series against England. Captain Virat Kohli has replaced Ravindra Jadeja and Hanuma Vihari as the replacement of R. Ashwin and Hardik Pandya.

Gavaskar has asked that Hanuma Vihari against England was included in the playing XI instead of Hardik Pandya, but why was Karun Nair not given the place? He said that it is not good to include Hanuma Vihari in the playing XI ahead of Karun Nair.

69-year-old Gavaskar said in the pre-match show to Sony Six Channel, “Karun Nayar has the right to ask team management why he is not in the team. He deserves this answer. Karun Nair has not done what he did because he could not find the place?

“He is not your favourite player. The selectors seem to have brought him. Don’t think the team management likes him,”Gavaskar added.

Gavaskar also said that “In the previous match, you did not select an extra batsman, but now you had a chance to choose. Karun Nayar wants this answer This is all nonsense.”

Karun Nair’s Test career

In the year 2016, Nayar made a triple century (303 *) against England in Chennai. Karun has played 6 Tests in his Test career so far, in which he has scored 347 runs with an average of more than 62.
