The ICC has taken a big step to strengthen Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC). Zimbabwe Cricket is unable to salaries its players and staff, due to which the game is also being damaged. Due to lack of salary, many good players in the country do not want to be included in the team Neither the foreign teams are getting facilities there.
In view of these problems, the ICC came forward to help Zimbabwe Cricket. The ICC has clarified that it will help Zimbabwe cricket to pay the outstanding amount of players and staff.
The Cricket Board provided this information, which is part of the Apex body-funded funding payment plan. However, no further information has been given to this plan from the board.
This was discussed in the meeting between the ZC and the ICC in Dublin this month in Dublin. However, no final decision has been taken so far on how the ICC will deliver.
The Zimbabwe board will get relief in this step by the ICC. The press release said that this will give relief to the staff and the players right now and this is the first step to strengthen the status of cricket in Zimbabwe.
Zimbabwe’s star player Brendan Taylor, Sinkar King, Graeme Cremer, Sean Williams and Craig Erwin withdrew their names from the T20I tri-series against Pakistan and Australia. They didn’t play in the 5-match ODI series against Pakistan.
With this move from the ICC, Zimbabwe hopes that before the South Africa tour in September, the matter related to the salary dispute will be resolved.
