IPL 2018: Players Need to Pass Yo-Yo Test to Prove their Fitness

IPL 2018. The new season of IPL is going to start from April 7. Keeping in mind the international level, now the IPL teams have asked the players to give fitness measuring Yo-Yo Test. IPL teams want their players to pass Yo-Yo test to prove their Fitness. So in the 11th season of the Indian Premier League, teams have made the biggest bid on any player but still, his place is not confirmed yet.

According to the sources, players of four teams have given this test. These tests were taken immediately after the IPL auction. Mumbai Indians first adopted this test, in which players were given 14.5 seconds to cross each level. There were 5 such levels.

This was followed by Royal Challengers Bangalore, Kings XI Punjab and Rajasthan Royals. Soon Sunrisers Hyderabad, Chennai Super Kings, Kolkata Knight Riders and Delhi Daredevils will also take their Yo-Yo tests.

IPL is not just a domestic tournament, it is world’s most reputed cricketing event. IPL involves the world’s best international players from all cricket playing countries. In this case, every player must be at the peak of fitness. The players believe that it is not easy to pass this test, but hopefully, the more Fit players will make this 11th season of IPL even more exciting.

Yo-Yo test is a fitness testing test. Only a player with good fitness and stamina can pass this test. This test comes handy to know the fitness level of players and identify the unfit players. The score of 16.1 in the Yo-Yo test is necessary to pass the test.

Cones are kept at a distance of 20 meters in this test and the player has to start with the beep and get the distance. There is a break of only 10 seconds allowed. Slowly, the speed is increased. Based on the speed of the player, his score is fixed. According to the score, the fitness scale of the player is prepared.
