Bengaluru. After making the highest bid of the IPL auction 2018 for Ben Stoke (Rs. 12.5 crores) yesterday, Rajasthan Royals again come with the highest bid for an Indian Player as well. Rajasthan fetched Jaydev Unadkat, offering Rs. 11.5 crores.
After claiming the man of the series award in T20 internationals against Sri Lanka, last year, Jaydev made a solid impact on the franchise tables in the IPL auction. It’s noticeable that he is also picked in the 16- man squad of India in upcoming T20 series against South Africa.
After remaining unsold, the West Indian hard hitter Chris Gayle is called back to the auction and this time he got picked by KXIP in Rs. 2 crores.
Krunal Panday surprises all as he is picked by Mumbai Indians in Rs. 8.8 Crores. Indian wrist spinner Yajuvendra Chahal was also the highlight as he goes to Royal Challengers Bangalore. RCB offered Rs. 6 crores to Chahal. K. Gowtham, the off-spinner also fetched by Rajasthan in a high bid of Rs. 6 crores.
Apart from these players, Mujeem Zadran, the player from the associate nation team Afganistan, also grabbed the attention of all, in the biding session.The 16 – year – old, under 19 player got picked by KXIP in Rs. 4 Crores.
The New Zealand opener Martin Guptill remained unsold after call back. T20I number one in ranking Ish Sodhi and the English captain Joe Root also remained unsold as no franchise showed any interest in them.
