Lt. Col M. S. Dhoni Received Padma Bhushan Award. Padma Award Ceremony was organized in Rashtrapati Bhawan on Monday. Padma Awards are the most prestigious civilian awards in India. Padma Bhushan is the Third Highest Civilian Honour in the country. Two big sports stars, cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni and billiards champion Pankaj Advani were awarded Padma Bhushan by President of India. Mahamahim President Ramnath Kovind honoured them with this honour.
Dhoni led Indian Cricket Team to win the ICC Cricket World Cup on 2 April 2011 after 1983. It is a coincidence that Dhoni received this honour on this memorable day. Dhoni has been honoured with Padmashree before.

Former captain of the Indian cricket team, who came to receive this honour, dressed Indian Army Uniform of Lieutenant Colonel and in this dress, he got this honour. When his name was called, he marched to take this award in his uniform. Significantly, the Army has given the standard title of the lieutenant colonel to the former Indian captain. After becoming part of the Indian Army, Dhoni gets all the facilities which are provided to an Indian Army soldier.
