Nidahas Trophy: India Won the 4th T20 Against Sri Lanka by 6 Wickets

Colombo. India won the 4th T20 by 6 wickets chasing the 152 runs target against Sri Lanka here at Colombo in Nidahas Trophy. After winning this match against Sri Lanka, India is now on Top of the points table with 4 points in the ongoing tri-series between Sri Lanka, India and Bangladesh.

In the second innings, Indian team’s start was not good as both the Indian openers Rohit Sharma (11) and inform Shikhar Dhawan (8) was sent back to the pavilion by Akila Dhananjay (2/19). Suresh Raina, who was batting aggressively, scored 27 runs off 15 balls and soon departed by Nuwan Pradeep (1/30).

India was in a bit travel as they lose their four wickets in a quick succession. But an unbeaten 86 runs 5th wicket partnership between Manish Pandey (42*) and Dinesh Karthik (39*) helped India to achieve the target. And hence India easily passed the 152 run mark in 17.3 over only. Hence India topped the table.

Earlier, due to rain, the match delayed by 1 hour 5 minute and the game started with a delay of 1 hour 20 minutes. Due to rain, the match was reduced to 19 overs. Indian captain Rohit won the toss and decided to bowl first and put Sri Lanka to bat.

Batting first, Sri Lanka scored 152 runs in 9 overs in the 19 overs. The Sri Lankan opener Guanathilake looked dangerous initially as he scored 17 runs off 8 balls. His innings ended soon when Shardul Thakur (4/27) departed him back.

No Sri Lankan batsmen could stand against Indian bowlers then, but Kushal Mendis played a magnificent inning of 55 runs in 38 balls. He hit three fours and three sixes in his innings. Anyhow Sri Lanka manages to pass 150 run mark and put the score of 152 runs for India to chase.
