Rajasthan Royals appointed Amol Muzumdar as their batting coach for the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2018. It’s also noticeable that Rajasthan Royals, who are returning to the 11th edition of IPL tournament after two years, have already named Shane Warne as their mentor for IPL 2018.
Amol Muzumdar has been one of India’s best domestic cricketers and has scored 11,167 runs in 171 first-class matches. However, he never got a single chance to make a place in the Indian Cricket Team even after having a tremendous record in domestic cricket.
On the appointment of Amol, the cricket head of Rajasthan Royals Zubin Bharucha said, “We are proud to have Amol Muzumdar on board as the team’s batting coach. His record on domestic circuit speaks for his greatness. The young batsmen will get so much to learn from him and develop their skills. Amol and Sairaj both bring skill, experience and vehemence that will surely drive the energy of the team in the right direction.”

“These are exciting times for a batsman. T20 has completely changed the contours of the game. The skill-sets are different, the game is more happening. There is never a dull moment. As a coach one has to constantly innovate and adapt while guiding the youngsters acquire new batting skills and keeping the basics of the game intact at the same time. It is a role I am excited about.” Amol Muzumdar commented on his appointment as batting coach in RR.
Now, it will be interesting to see the performance of Rajasthan Royals in the upcoming season of the IPL as they have gathered a solid team along with the two most expensive players in the IPL 2018 auction and the experienced coaching staff.
