Sunrisers Hyderabad Named their Captain for IPL 2018. Caught involved in ball tampering scandal the former Austrailian vice-captain Devid Warner had already left the captaincy of Sunrisers Hyderabad. BCCI has already banned Warner to play in IPL after Cricket Australia’s strict decision against him. Along with Warner BCCI also banned the former Australian captain Steve Smith from IPL 2018. In such situations both the franchise teams, SRH and RR needed to appoint their new captains for IPL 2018.
Rajasthan Royals had already announced Ajinkya Rahane as their captain for the 11th season of IPL. In the same sequence, SRH also has announced their captain today. Surprisingly it’s not Shikhar Dhawan.

Sunrisers Hyderabad announced their captain’s name for the 11th season of IPL. New Zealand captain Ken Williamson will captain Hyderabad this season. Kane Williamson was also named after players who were considered captaincy contenders since Warner left the captaincy along with Indian opener and former SRH captain Shikhar Dhawan and Bangladesh captain Shakib Al Hasan. At last SRH prefered Williamson among all. Williamson has proved himself a good captain for his country in international cricket.

After Warner left the captaincy of Sunrisers, there were speculations that this place in Sunrisers Hyderabad could now be given to India’s opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan.
If Shikhar Dhawan or any other Indian player was made the captain of this team then this would be the first time in the history of IPL when the captain of all the IPL teams was an Indian player. But Sunrise’s team gives the command of their team to Ken Williamson. Hence this record will no longer be able to be made. So this time even the captain of all the IPL teams will not be Indian.
Earlier, Rajasthan Royals replaced an Indian player Ajinkya Rahane as the captain in place of restricted kangaroo player Steve Smith.
