Suresh Raina Replaced Ambati Rayudu in the Indian ODI Squad Against England

Suresh Raina Replaced Ambati Rayudu. After failing in the Yo-Yo Test Ambati Rayudu is replaced by Suresh Raina. Raina is now a part of the ODI team that will tour England. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) issued a press release and gave information about this. Veteran player Raina has got a place in ODI Team India after almost 3 years.

Actually, Rayudu was selected in the Indian team for the 3 match ODI series against India. But he failed in the Yo-Yo Test, since then BCCI started looking for other players instead of him. For Raina, this chance is not less than a jackpot. He played last time at Mumbai against South Africa on October 25, 2015.

Ambati Rayudu, who was impressive for the IPL champions Chennai Super Kings, was shocked to fail in the Yo-Yo Test. Rayudu could achieve just 14 points instead of 16.1 points in this fitness test.

Before this, in place of Rayudu, anyone from Suresh Raina, Manish Pandey, Rishabh Pant, Kedar Jadhav and Krupal Pandya were to be selected.

On the other hand, Vice Captain Rohit Sharma will be present for the yo-yo test on Sunday. He had obtained permission from the BCCI to not participate in this test on 15th June.

BCCI’s official Saba Karim told about this. He said “Rohit had obtained permission to not join the BCCI due to personal engagement (as a brand ambassador of a watch company in Russia). There is no such rule that all the players have to give a yo-yo test on the same day. He will be present for the test tomorrow.”
