IPL 2018: Vintage MS Dhoni Sent Across A Strong Warning To Other Teams With A Stellar Knock On Super Sunday

“Applause Comes Hard Earned, Criticism Comes For Free”. MSD gave all the answers to his critics by his destructive batting performance on super Sunday of IPL 2018. The vintage MS Dhoni charged up the stadium with his helicopter shots at Mohali against KXIP.

MS Dhoni is not just about a name, it is about a fairytale journey that took Indian cricket to places. On last Sunday, the Chennai Super Kings fell 4 runs short of the target set by the Kings XI but the showstopper was none other than MS Dhoni. CSK walked into its third game having won both their first games but that winning streak was broken by Kings XI Punjab.

But what entertained the crowd most at Mohali was a Vintage MS Dhoni. MS Dhoni is someone who is synonymous with clinical finishes. But in recent times, he has been under criticism as some might argue that the former Indian captain is now a spent force. MS Dhoni unleashed the good old beast in him as he played an unbeaten and stellar knock of 79 from just 44 balls.

Chasing a big total of 198, the Chennai Super Kings never looked in control with both the openers failed to give CSK the much-needed start. Then with Ambati Rayudu’s heroics ending in a direct hit by Ashwin, it came down to MS Dhoni. Rayudu batted superbly for his 49.

MSD SENT A WARNING ACROSS TO OTHER TEAMS

The way MS Dhoni batted in Mohali, he has put a seal to all those mouths who doubted his finishing capabilities with the bat. After setting his eye on, MS Dhoni set free and almost took the Chennai Super Kings home. MS Dhoni hit 5 long sixes and got the Kings XI Punjab’s bowlers hopping. Dhoni swung his bat like a boss and almost handed over a defeat to the Kings XI Punjab.

In his unbeaten knock of 79, MS Dhoni hit 6 fours and 5 sixes and batted with a whopping strike rate of 179. If Ravindra Jadeja had provided him support from the other end, Dhoni would have surely sealed the win. CSK might have tasted their first loss in the tournament but MS Dhoni has made clear that his vintage style is still pretty much alive and there is every reason why bowlers must fear him.
