Women IPL 2018: Harmanpreet Kaur and Smriti Mandhana to Lead the Sides in the Match

Women IPL 2018. There is great news for Indian women cricketers. The BCCI has decided to make a match on the pattern of IPL for the women. The match will be held just before the IPL 2018 Play-offs current. Indian T20I Team captain Harmanpreet Kaur and veteran batsman Smriti Mandhana will be captaining their respective sides in the match.

In this regard, the IPL Chairman Rajiv Shukla said in his statement: “The IPL will continue to be as usual. It is our endeavor that women cricketers also get the chance to play on the big platform like IPL. We have talked to many cricket associations for this match. I am also happy with the results of that.

The BCCI announced this match on Tuesday. This Women’s T20 Challenge match will be played on May 22. The BCCI said in its statement that decision has been taken considering the success of the Indian women team, which reached the final of the World Cup-2007. Australia, New Zealand and England players will also appear in this match.

The member of the Committee of Administration (COA) and former Indian woman cricketer Diana Edulji said that the domestic players, including Mithali Raj, Jhulan Goswami, Harmanpreet Kaur, Smriti Mandhana and Veda Krishnamurthy, will appear playing together in this match. The BCCI is looking at this as the future of women’s cricket.
