The next season of F1 will see the young Charles Leclerc replace Kimi Raikkonen at Ferrari. Sebastian Vettel and Charles Leclerc will form the new pair at Ferrari in the next season as Ferrari looks to invest time on the highly impressive Leclerc who has won himself a Ferrari berth.
Sebastian Vettel feels that it is essential for the two to have a healthy working relationship so that the team can perform well.
Vettel who will play the role of the experienced one in this set up said that his relationship with Leclerc at Ferrari will hold the key to the team’s success.
While Leclerc will step into the shoes of Kimi Raikkonen, the latter will be racing for Sauber after being ousted from Ferrari. Leclerc may have impressed one and all with his speed but he lacks the experience. He only has 19 Grand Prix to his name in which he’s participated for Sauber.
Sebastian Vettel explained that to indulge in a fight for internal supremacy will be mistake for the pair. Vettel further added that given the fact that Charles Leclerc is so young he will have a lot going around in his head and his mind.
Vettel categorically stated that for the team to perform well both the drivers will have to work in tandem with each other.
I want to beat him, he wants to beat me in next season: Sebastian Vettel
Vettel also highlighted the fact that it is obvious that both him and Leclerc would want to beat each other and and the rules are pretty evident.
However he kept emphasis on the need for the pair to work with each other in coordination for the better future of the team and themselves as well rather than working against each other in their battle.
