German GP was the turning point in career: Grosjean

Romain Grosjean has been retained by Haas for the 2019 F1 season and he feels that he has the German GP to thank for the same. He believes that it was the German GP which marked the turning point in his F1 career and instilled faith in the team management to retain him for 2019.

High profile errors at Azerbaijan and Spain have jeopardised his future prospects at Haas as his bad run of form was a reason substantial enough him to oust him. It was the German Grand Prix he believes that brought his from the back and gave Haas another reason to retain him.

He’s been with Haas since 2016 and now he’s been retained for the third year by Haas. Haas recently announced that it had retained both Romain Grosjean and Kevin Magnussen for the 2019 F1 season.

Romain Grosjean said that he knows very well that it was the German Grand Prix in particular wherein he regained form. He was asked about the key moment in his turnaround of form and he didn’t have to think much before promptly replying with the mention of the German Grand Prix held earlier this year.

    Grosjean shows gratitude:

Grosjean also expressed his gratitude towards the team for extending to him an opportunity to showcase his form before taking the call for the 2019 driver spots.

He further added that it’s really tough for one to retain his seat in F1 as a lot of drivers are ready to drive sans salary or any money. He thanked Haas for being patient with him and realising what he has done for the team.

Grosjean also emphasised on the need for Haas to have a seasoned driver. He believes that experience cannot be bought and for Haas, it is still growing and developing.
