Daniil made his way back to Toro Rosso in 2016 the 2016 season so as to promote Max Verstappen to Red Bull Racing. To make way for Verstappen, Kvyat returned to Toro Rosso but he left Toro Rosso before the conclusion of the 2017 season.
Thereafter Pierre Gasly and Brendon Hartley were called in to make the replacements.
New season, New Role
Next year the Russian driver will make a comeback to Toro Rosso as the team leader. Most probably he would be paired with rookie Alexander Albon who lacks experience and exposure.
Toro Rosso boss stated that things got rather tough in the last partnership between Toro Rosso and Kvyat. He further added that things did not go as expected and hence alterations were made.
The boss of Toro Rosso recalled that it was a really tough decision to oust Kvyat in 2017 but it also turned out to be the best decision for both sides since there were issues of trust.
He further explained that the team wasn’t very satisfied with Kvyat and even Kvyat wasn’t impressed with the work of the team hence parting ways was prudent. There are question marks from both sides when success isn’t achieved said the Toro Rosso boss.
Now Toro Rosso’s boss believes that Kvyat deserves another chance as a racer in F1. If this stint between the two is any different then let’s see what’s in store for F1 on the sidelines of this partnership.
