Raikkonen wins US GP, title wait goes longer for Hamilton

The action moved to the US Grand Prix in anticipation of Lewis Hamilton winning the world championship title with the race but that was not to be. Ferrari’s Kimi Raikkonen won at the US GP and ensured that Lewis Hamilton who’s so close to his fifth title will have to wait for longer to have to it.

Lewis Hamilton who was the favorite to win the race finished third behind Kimi Räikkönen and Max Verstappen who was just brilliant.

Sebastian Vettel after facing a grid penalty finished fourth followed by Bottas, Hamilton’s teammate.

The likes of Charles Leclerc and Daniel Ricciardo had to retire midway and could not complete the race. Kimi Räikkönen was really elated to have notched up an impressive win. After the race, he stated that it’s been a great weekend for him and the car has been pretty good.

He further added that he got a good start and later it was just about pushing hard.

Hamilton misses the fifth world championship title when Raikkonen wins the GP

Lewis Hamilton was the premier favorite to win this race with a grand lead over Sebastian Vettel. The world championship title could have come his way at the US Grand Prix but that was not to be.

He was kept at bay from the title by Max Verstappen and Kimi Räikkönen. Lewis Hamilton in a post-match interview congratulated Kimi Räikkönen and lauded his performance. Kimi Räikkönen’s win means Hamilton needs to wait for longer to seal his fifth world championship title.

Mercedes boss was certainly disappointed with Hamilton not winning the race. And now he would have to wait for seeing Hamilton clinch the title.
