Sergio Perez never considered a McLaren comeback after being dropped by the side in 2013! Sergio Perez clarified that even though he was in talks with McLaren for a berth in the next season, he was never really considerate about making a comeback to the side.
He joined McLaren in 2013 after leaving the Ferrari academy but his stint with McLaren came to an end towards the end of the very first season as McLaren decided to replace him with Kevin Magnussen.
For Perez, his career has been more of a roller coaster ride full of highs and lows. After being ousted by McLaren he came to terms with Force India claiming one of the few seats left.
During his stay at the team, Force India grew leaps and bounds as its reputation escalated quickly to being the leading independent competitor in F1.
On the contrary, McLaren has started to suffer given its under performing cars. What added to the woes of McLaren was Fernando Alonso’s call to quit.
McLaren also lost faith in Stoffel Vandoorne and emerged as the new destination for divers wanting to be a part of the team.
Mclaren chose Norris over Sergio Perez
Perez was among the options for McLaren but ultimately they sided with Lando Norris. Perez’s future is not yet confirmed at Force India but he is expected to be retained for the sixth consecutive year at Force India.
He feels that whatever he has and the palace where he happens to be the best thing for his future. Perez said that Force India is a very attractive place to be if one is not a part of Mercedes or Ferrari.
