Manchester United and Villarreal have cemented their place in the finals of the UEFA Europa League beating their opponents over the two-legged tie.

Manchester United beat AS Roma by an 8-5 aggregate. The Red Devils traveled to Italy with a 6-2 advantage after the first leg at Old Trafford. However, in the second leg AS Roma beat Manchester United by 3-2 but lost the tie over the result of two-leg.

AS Roma was excellent throughout the game yesterday. But Manchester United David De Gea was the savior for his side last night. He became the Man of the Match last with 10 crucial saves.

After the match, Manchester United captain Harry Maguire said, “We need to improve for the final, but it’s a great achievement [to reach it].”

“Now we’ve got to win it.”-he added.

On the other hand, Arsenal drew against Villarreal at home. It was a must-win game for the Gunners after the 2-1 loss in the first leg in Spain. But both teams failed to break the deadlock and the match ended in a 0-0 draw.

After the match, Villarreal boss Unai Emery said, “Yes I’m very proud because we know it is very important for us and Arsenal is a very good team. I think we deserved it.”

“Today we worked very well, defended very well and sometimes with the possession we controlled the match and had some options in attack to score goals. They had the best chances to score.”

“Today we are thinking to enjoy this moment and then we prepare the match against Manchester United. We deserve to play this final and we will show our best performance and show we want to fight against Manchester for this title.”

Villarreal will face Manchester United on the 26th of May Gdansk in the UEFA Europa League final this season.

UEFA Europa League Semi-final second leg: Can we witness another all-English final?

After two days of UEFA Champions League clash now it’s time for UEFA Europa League tonight. Manchester United will travel to Rome to face AS Roma whereas Arsenal will take on Villarreal at home.

Manchester United has almost cemented their place in the final after a comprehensive win at home last week by 6-2. However, Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer warned his team to not celebrate too early. In the pre-match press conference, he said, “You don’t have to be a rocket scientist to see we have challenges to be dealt with.”

“I would be sad if all the good work the players have gone got disrupted. Our focus is on playing well and getting to a final now.”- he added.

AS Roma boss Paulo Fonseca acknowledges his side has a mountain to climb to reach the final. He said, “It’s not easy to beat Manchester United 4-0, but I’ve seen many things happen in football. I believe in everything.”

On the other hand, Arsenal lost the first leg by 2-1. Nicolas Pepe’s second-half penalty handed Arteta’s side a crucial away goal. Arteta is confident that his side can turn the tie around tonight and reach the final.

He said, “It’s a big moment.”

“Not for me but for the club, for everything that has happened in the last two years, in the last months.”- he added.

Arsenal reached the Europa League final in 2019 under current Villarreal boss Unai Emery but was beaten 4-1 in Baku by Premier League rivals Chelsea.

“I think it will be really important and our biggest step forward if we are able to be in that final and have the opportunity to win that trophy.” Arteta said.

If Manchester United and Arsenal reached the final then we will see another all-English final in the European competition this season. In UEFA Champions League, Chelsea and Manchester City will face each other in the final. It will be interesting to see that whether the other two English clubs can do the same in UEFA Europa League as well.

It’s all English final in the UEFA Champions League

It’s going to be an all-English final in UEFA Champions League this season. After Manchester City, Chelsea secured their place in the final beating Real Madrid at Stamford Bridge yesterday.

Chelsea beat Real Madrid by 2-0 and cemented their place in the final in 3-1 aggregate over two-leg. Chelsea’s Timo Werner and Mason Mount scored for Chelsea last night.

Chelsea broke the deadlock at the 28th minute of the game as Timo Werner headed one into the net to give the English side an early lead in the game. Real Madrid tried their best to get back into the game but the Chelsea defense was so strong to break.

Later Mason Mount’s 85th-minute goal sealed the victory for Thomas Tuchell’s side. It is Chelsea’s first UEFA Champions League final appearance after 2012 when they beat FC Bayern Munich to win the title.

After the match, Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount said, “I can’t put it into words, really, at the moment. But it was a great performance tonight, it was a tough, tough game.”

“We gave it everything. We had that desire, we wanted to win. You could see in the first half we had a couple of opportunities where we won the ball back and could’ve countered and scored, but we didn’t take them. But we got the one at the end so it doesn’t matter.” – he added.

Chelsea will face Manchester City in the final in Istanbul on May 29th in an all-English Champions League final, and also have an FA Cup final against Leicester City coming up in 10 days’ time. Ending the season with both of these trophies is now the primary target for Thomas Tuchell’s side.

Chelsea vs Real Madrid: who will cement their place into the final?

Chelsea will take on Real Madrid today in the UEFA Champions League semi-final second-leg tie at Stamford Bridge. The first leg ended in a 1-1 draw at Madrid. Chelsea is in an advantageous position with an away before the start of the second leg.

However, 13 times UEFA Champions League champions are ready to continue their journey to the 14th title. A big boost visitors before the second leg as the Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos is fit to play against Chelsea. Former Chelsea player Eden Hazard, also included in the squad and Zidane, suggested that he may appear against his former side.

In the pre-match press conference, Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane said,

“We’ve got our leader and our captain with us. I won’t be taking any risks. Sergio is here with us. That means that he’s ready to play, that’s all it means.”

“We have to play our game, it is a 90-minute game, maybe more. We are well prepared. We are in a CL semi-final, you don’t play them every day. My players are well prepared to perform tomorrow.”

“Tomorrow is a new match, completely different. We need to prepare well physically and it is also about stopping their strengths. They have the quality of course.”

On the other hand, Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has warned his team to maintain their concentration throughout the 90 minutes. He said, “We felt we can be stronger [than the first-leg]. The challenge is to keep the intensity going through the whole match.”

“It is a semi-final, the pressure is on, a knockout game so to arrive with a level of belief and confidence is necessary or we will have no chance against a team like Real Madrid.”

“I never felt we had a holy grail to reach the final, or winning the Champions League is the only target. I have a strong feeling that every win counts, the club demands that we win any game, no matter who is on the other side of the pitch.”- he added.

The winner of this match will face Manchester City at Istanbul in the UEFA Champions League final.

Manchester City breaks their UCL curse

Manchester City breaks their UEFA Champions League curse to cement their place in the UEFA Champions League finals beating Manchester City 4-1 in a two-legged tie.

Manchester City was in a advantageous position after beating Paris Saint-Germain in the first leg at Parc De France. PSG needed two goals without conceding one to qualify for the finals.

From the first minute of the game, Mauricio Pochettino’s men were trying to dominate the game. But they failed to break the deadlock as City’s defense was rock-solid at the back. At the 11th minute of the game, Manchester City breaks the deadlock from a fast counter-attack as Riyad Mahrez scored for the Cityzens. The pass from City goalkeeper Ederson Moraes to Zinchenko was excellent to start the counter-attack.

After conceding the first goal, PSG tried to fight back but couldn’t find the net. Later Riyad Mahrez scored his second of the match to seal their place into the finals at Istanbul.

After the win, Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola said, “I’m incredibly proud and my first thoughts are with the players who didn’t play today. They all deserved to play, everyone has made a contribution and now it is time to enjoy it. We have to win the league and we have two or three weeks to prepare for the final.”

“They put a lot of players in the middle and we struggled a lot in the first half to high press and we changed at half-time. We recovered the ball better in the second half and we were much better in the way we played and 4-1 on aggregate against a team that beat Barcelona and Bayern Munich means a lot to us.”

“People believe it’s easy to arrive in the final of the Champions League. Getting to the final now makes sense of what we have done in the past four or five years.”- he added.

Manchester City will face the winner of Chelsea and Real Madrid today in the final.

AS Roma confirms Jose Mourinho as new head coach

AS Roma announce Jose Mourinho as their new head coach today. The Portuguese will take charge of the Italian side from the start of the next season.

AS Roma issued a statement through their social handles in this regard. The statement read, ‘The club is delighted to announce an agreement has been reached with Jose Mourinho for him to become our new head coach ahead of the 2021-22 season!’

It was earlier confirmed that AS Roma’s current boss Paulo Fonseca is set to leave the club after two years. After that, it was a talking point that who is going to be the new manager for the Italian side. However, it does not take too long to find the answer. In a shock move, the Giallorossi have revealed that Mourinho will take charge, beginning in the summer.

AS Roma has a tough season this year. They are currently 7th in the Serie A table and almost certainly out of the next year’s UEFA competitions. Last week they lost 6-2 at Old Trafford against Manchester United in the UEFA Europa League first leg and waiting for the second leg tie against them on Thursday at Stadio Olimpico.

On the other hand, Tottenham Hotspurs sacked Jose Mourinho a few days ago for their poor run of form in every competition. After losing his job as Spurs manager, Mourinho told the press that he will be back on the football pitch soon which is now a matter of time.

After agreeing on the contract, Jose Mourinho said, “After meetings with the ownership, I immediately understood their ambitions for Roma. Together we want to build a winning project.”

“The incredible passion of the fans convinced me to accept the job. I can’t wait to start next season. Daje Roma!”- he added.

Previously, Mourinho had a pretty successful tenure at Italy with Inter Milan from 2008-2010. He won the Serie-A two times with a treble-winning season with Inter Milan in 2009-10.

It will be interesting to see if he can do the same in his second spell in Italy or not.

Xavi Hernandez set to leave Qatar, FC Barcelona on alert

FC Barcelona on alert as Xavi Hernandez is set to leave his job as coach of Qatari club Al Sadd, according to a report in the Middle East.

Former FC Barcelona midfielder is highly linked to taking charge of the team for a long time. The FC Barcelona legend even rejected the managerial position in January 2020 after the sacking of Ernesto Valverde as he was on a contract with the Qatari club Al Sadd.

But as per some recent reports, Xavi Hernandez will not have his contract renewed at Al Sadd and will leave the club at the end of the current campaign. It gives FC Barcelona management a big boost in their pursuit.

FC Barcelona failed to deliver their best this season under Ronald Koeman. Though the Cules won the Copa Del Rey, they failed to fulfill the expectations. Some even suggested sacking Koeman after the end of the season.

On the other hand, Qatari side Al Sadd won the league with an ‘invincible’ campaign. His team became the second team in the Qatari Stars League’s history to record an “Invincibles” campaign, following Al Duhail’s groundbreaking triumph during the 2017/18 domestic season.

The speculation was increased after Xavi’s comment on newly re-appointed Barca president Joan Laporta. Xavi said, “He is the best president I ever had. ”

“Laporta is a good friend. I know him very well, he will do the best for Barca.”

“He is a good president. In my opinion, the best president I have ever had, so he will get Barcelona back, both on the pitch and financially. There are many issues to resolve but Laporta can fix everything. We are in contact. I am very happy for him.”- he added.

Manchester City vs Paris Saint-Germain: Match Preview

Manchester City will take on Paris Saint-Germain at Etihad Stadium tomorrow to secure their place in the UEFA Champions League final for the very first time.

Pep Guardiola’s men are in an advantageous position after the first leg win at Parc de France. The Manchester City boss has warned his players before the match. In the pre-match press conference, he said, “We don’t want to miss this opportunity, by not being ourselves and doing a good game, I have the feeling we are going to do well.

“They have to understand that this will be a big battle, a tough game with moments to suffer, but I’m pretty sure we are going to react well and impose ourselves.”

“They have to visualize they can do it. What we have to do is no different from what they’ve done in last seven months, go out there, play our game and win.”

“We are not going to demand anything special. We’ve had tough, tough games in the Premier League – the same level as PSG.”

Manchester City defender John Stones said, “I do think with all the things that have happened have made us a stronger team, the disappointment of getting knocked out in harsh circumstances is hard to take so we’ve had to use it, especially this season, as fuel to motivate us.”

“Push forward to take the next step and get our goal to win the Champions League. This season we’ve got a great chance to get to the final, hopefully, we can do it. Just use the emotions of disappointment to motivate us to do better in seasons like this one.”

On the other hand, Paris Saint-Germain is ready to secure their place in the finals for the second consecutive time. Paris Saint Germain star, Neymar still believes that his team can turn the match around. After  PSG’s 2-1 win against Lens in Ligue 1 on Saturday, the Brazilian told the club’s official media channel, “The first thing to do now is to rest and then really refocus on the Champions League.”

“We had a very tough first leg against Manchester City but we have to believe it no matter what the stats say or our percentage chance of winning.”

“I think every Parisian should believe in us! I’m in the front line, and I’ll be the first warrior who goes into battle for the team.”

“I will give the best of myself and I will do anything to bring this back no matter what, even if I have to die on the pitch.”- he added.

Fans can expect a thrilling encounter tomorrow.

Klopp predicts Liverpool will be back to the best soon

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp predicts that Liverpool will be back to their best very soon.

The 2020-21 season has turned out to be a disastrous season for Liverpool. After winning the Premier League last season after 30 years, it was expected that Liverpool will continue their domination this season.

But then it was not gone as per the plan for Jurgen Klopp’s side. Liverpool is currently 5th in the Premier League table and might be unable to qualify for the UCL next season. It is going to be another trophyless season for the Reds.

However, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp predicts that when players return for next season from long-term injuries, the Reds will be immediately better than they are. In a press conference, he said, “If we want to become Champions, we have to be perfect, and we were not perfect. The circumstances were not perfect, nothing was perfect actually.”

“So, [us not] becoming champions was really clear pretty early. We know our resources inside, so that’s not a problem because you can not become champions every year. [Man] City will not be champions every year even when they have a pretty good perspective.”

“We know that if only the players come back that we’ve missed [this season], we will be better immediately. We will have a much better rhythm,  it’s not about the center-halves [where] two are in, and the others are out. It’s not about that because meanwhile, we have done pretty well – especially when Ozan [Kabak] and Nat [Phillips] could play together, that was absolutely fine.”- Klopp added.

Real Madrid confirms Varane to miss UCL semi-final against Chelsea

Real Madrid got a big blow before the second-leg tie against Chelsea in the UEFA Champions League semi-final on Wednesday. Raphaël Varane has been ruled out of Wednesday’s clash through an injury.

The Real Madrid defender was withdrawn at half-time during Saturday’s 2-0 win over Osasuna and MRI tests have since confirmed a problem with his “right abductor muscles”. According to a report by Marca, the 27-year-old has only been ruled out for ten days. But he will be unable to appear in two crucial fixtures for Los Blancos, against Chelsea and Sevilla.

Real Madrid has already issued an official statement regarding the absence of the French defender. The statement read, ‘After the tests carried out today on our player Raphaël Varane by Real Madrid Medical Services, he was diagnosed with an injury to the right-abductor muscles.’

The first leg of the tie was ended in a 1-1 draw. Chelsea has got the upper hand after the crucial away goal. Real Madrid needs a solid performance at Stamford Bridge to reach another UEFA Champions League final. The 13 times UCL champions are ready to snatch their crown again this year.

Manchester United could be punished after Old Trafford protests yesterday

Manchester United could face punishment from the FA and Premier League after yesterday’s fans’ protest. Officials were forced to postpone the match against Liverpool for safety reasons as fans protested outside Old Trafford and eventually made their way inside the stadium.

According to a report by Daily Mirror, the investigation is currently going on to know the details. If Manchester United is at fault for the game not happening, then as per the FA’s rulebook in section 8.3.4, Liverpool will be awarded the result and three points.

Yesterday’s protest inside the stadium

The rule read, ‘In the event of a match being abandoned due to the conduct of one Club or its members or supporters the Board has the power to order that the match is not replayed and to award either one or three points to the Club, not at fault.’

‘It cannot levy a financial penalty due to the conduct of a Club.’

However, as per the Premier League rules, a club cannot be held to blame if the police are involved in the decision to postpone, which was the case on Sunday. This is a sigh of relief for Manchester United team management.

Sergio Aguero to bid farewell to Manchester City at the end of the season

Sergio Aguero is set to leave Manchester City at the end of the season after 10 years. The club has announced the departure of the Argentine in their statement yesterday. The statement reads, ‘Manchester City will bid a fond and emotional farewell to legendary striker Sergio Agüero when his contract expires this summer.’

It is an emotional moment for all the Manchester City fans and their members since the announcement. Sergio Aguero is a legend of the club. In his 384 appearances for the club, he has scored 257 goals. He is the highest goal-scorer in the club’s history.

Out of 257, 181 has come in the Premier League. Only Alan Shearer (260), Wayne Rooney (208), and Andy Cole (187) have the better tally than the Argentine.

Aguero has won four Premier League titles, one FA Cup, five League Cups, and three Community Shields with Manchester City in the last 10 years. That last-minute goal against QPR on the final day of the 2011-12 campaign to seal the title over the rivals Manchester United is still in the memory of all the football fans.

The owner of Manchester City, Khaldoon Al Mubarak said, “Sergio’s contribution to Manchester City over the last 10 years cannot be overstated. His legend will be indelibly etched into the memories of everyone who loves the Club and maybe even in those who simply love football.”

“This is not yet the moment for farewell words and speeches. There is still much to achieve in the remainder of the time we have with Sergio, and we look forward to his contributions to the challenges which lay ahead.”

“In the meantime, it gives me great pleasure to announce that we will be commissioning an artist to create a statue of Sergio to live at the Etihad Stadium alongside the ones under construction for Vincent and David. And we look forward to the opportunity to bid Sergio a fitting farewell at the end of the season.”

It is reported that Sergio Aguero will be honored with a statue outside the Etihad Stadium alongside statues currently in progress for Vincent Kompany and David Silva.

Eric Baily decides to snub new Manchester United deal

LIVERPOOL, ENGLAND - DECEMBER 23: Eric Bailly of Manchester United looks on during the Carabao Cup Quarter Final match between Everton and Manchester United at Goodison Park on December 23, 2020 in Liverpool, England. (Photo by Ash Donelon/Manchester United via Getty Images)

Manchester United defender Eric Baily is furious with the team management after he was overlooked against AC Milan in UEFA Europa League and in the FA Cup quarter-final against Leicester City.

Eric Baily is always excellent whenever he got his chances. But his fitness has always been a question. Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer seems to rely on Maguire and Lindelof as a defensive pair rather than Eric Baily.

But the Ivorian is fed up with the treatment he got from the team management. According to a report by The Sun claims that he is planning to snub the Manchester United contract offer.

A dressing room insider told, “Eric has had enough now.”

“He simply doesn’t feel wanted or respected by the manager.”

“Eric doesn’t believe he gets any answers or explanation about the way he is treated and feels he is the easy option to leave out.”

“It’s a real shame because Eric always tells us he loves the club and feels the respect of the fans.”

“But it’s got to the point this week where he has to think about his future.”

Manchester United is in search of a center-back for a long time. If Baily leaves next summer then a center-back will be the primary target for Manchester United in the transfer window.

Manchester United vs Crystal Palace: Pre-Match press conference of both managers

Manchester United will take on Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park tonight. Manchester United is currently in the second position in the league. But they are 12 points behind Manchester City who is leading the table right now. The Red Devils need a miracle to be crowned champion this season.

However, Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is not ready to focus on the outcome of the league. He just wants to concentrate on every game and want to win every one of them.

In this circumstance, United is travelling to London to face Crystal Palace at their home. In the Pre-Match press conference, both the managers have provided some early team news.

Manchester United striker Edinson Cavani has overcome his injury and is ready to come back again against Crystal Palace. Yesterday Ole said, “Edi has trained this morning and hopefully there is no reaction.”

“There are another couple of knocks that we have to look at, from after the [Chelsea] game, and from the season’s wear and tear.” -he added.

“It looks good. Edi has got the desire and hunger and, of course, he wants to join in, even if it’s from the bench. Hopefully, he’ll say tomorrow that there’s been no reaction.”

It is good news for Manchester United and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to have their main striker back in action. However, Paul Pogba, Juan Mata and Phil Jones are all still sidelined.

Ole revealed, “With Phil, obviously we hope [we see him in 2020/21]. He’s working really hard. He’s had a couple of setbacks. It’s just that kind of injury where you have to be patient and give him time. I know all about knee injuries. I’m not sure. How long is a piece of rope? That’s how I felt as well when I came back. [We’ll] give him absolutely every chance to get back this season. If not, hopefully for the start of next.”

“Paul is still not ready for us, no. He’s feeling better. He’s not been training with the team yet, so he’s definitely not travelling down to London, no.”-Solskjaer said on Paul Pogba’s involvement.

On the other hand, It is quite a positive ambience in the Palace side. Former Red, Wilfred Zaha has started training who is battling to return from a thigh problem. Though he is doubtful to face his former side tonight.

Crystal Palace boss Roy Hodgson said, “It’s quite good news, really. Wilf’s returned to training, albeit a bit modified. He looks ready to go again, we’ll have to wait for the green light, but it’s looking positive. We will be able to welcome him back very, very soon.”

“Also, I’m very pleased that Jeffrey Schlupp and Connor Wickham have recovered and will be available for me. It’s good news on the offensive front, we’re looking much more like we should be.”- he added.

It is a must-win game for both the side. Both the team is ready to give their best in the field. It will be exciting to see who gets the better of these two tonight.

Solskjaer slams the poor refereeing decision against Chelsea

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer slams referee for the poor penalty decision in last night’s clash against Chelsea.

Manchester United traveled to London to face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. But the game ended in a goalless draw.

In the first half, Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi touches the ball by his hand in the penalty box following a free-kick from Marcus Rashford. But the referee denied rewarding the penalty to the Red Devils.

After the match, Ole Gunnar Solskjaerblasts referee over the penalty decision and said, “It was a penalty, 100% nailed on. If that’s a natural position for a hand to be in when the ball comes in then I must be blind.”

Manchester United left-back Luke Shaw, who was present on the field claims referee didn’t award Manchester Utd penalty against Chelsea to avoid ‘a lot of talk’.

Luke Shaw revealed, “If it’s not going to be a penalty, l don’t think they needed to stop the game.”

“The ref even said to H [Harry Maguire] that if I say it is a pen then it is going to cause a lot of talks afterward. H got told it was a penalty.”- he added.

“I don’t understand why the game is stopped. It’s confusing with VAR.”

“I’m not going to moan about it because l don’t think either team did enough to win.”

Previously, Manchester United has got some controversial decisions against them against Sheffield United this season. This has affected the title hopes of Manchester United. The Red Devils 12 points behind City, who beat West Ham United on Saturday.

Ole said, “We wanted to win. Apart from the last quality or pass being not good enough, we had great pressing, desire [and] work-rate. There was a great save by David de Gea and we got the clean sheet.”

“That’s what let us down, that quality on the ball. The first half was scrappy. Poor game really. But then we played some good stuff at times. When we settled we created a few chances but we didn’t have enough.”

Top five Champions League goal scorer of all the time

Top five Champions League goalscorer of all the time- always presents as a big controversial topic in the world of football. Who will be in the top five list excites the goal scorers in every club, every year? In the last few years, several stars from several team’s push themselves to be in the top five list.
Robert Lewandowski, the Polish football dominates the champions league and able to make the achievement all-stars are waiting to achieve. Bayern took the lead against Lazio this week in the Champions League first leg of 4-1. And the first goal was done by Robert Lewandowski by dodging their goalkeeper.
Again, the topic gets so much attraction for Lewandowski’s breathless performance. Last year the Champions League was finished by Bayern and they were crowned as a champion where Lewandowski showed his optimum performance.

Karim Benzema

Karim Benzema is placed in the fifth rank amongst the Champions League’s all-time leading scorers and maintained his performance and remains a key player in the Real Madrid side more than a decade after arriving at the Bernabeu from Lyon.
He played 125 times in the competition, he has scored 69 times, averaging 0.55 goals per game, winning the competition on four occasions during his career in the Spanish capital.
The 33 years old has a record of playing 16 consecutive Champion’s League seasons. And he scored several scores in several group stage fixtures.

Raúl González

Raúl González was the highest goal scorer until 2014, he was also the first-ever player to score 50 Champions League goals. It is something that is not possible to take away from this man, he was at the top of the Champions League goal scoring table with his 71 goals in the competition.
He scored 66 goals in his iconic Real Madrid days and 5 goals in Schalke. Later Messi broke that record but he was the top scorer for a long time, but he couldn’t do any scores later on in his matches.

FC Barcelona lost their First Leg against PSG in 4-1. It is so hard for the Spanish giant in their current scenario to come back on the second Leg. FC Barcelona will try to do their best to pull off a comeback against the French side and Lionel Messi will surely leading the charge.

Cristiano Ronaldo

Cristiano Ronaldo takes his position top by scoring 134 goals in 175 games, having an average of 0.77 goals per game. Though he has the top goal-scoring record in the Champions League, he is in the third position when the fastest 72 goals are calculated where Messi did it in 91 games, second position holding Lewandowski did in 95 games and he did in 109 games.

And after ten minutes of second-half, a cross through made by Bayern misplaced by Lazio defender Francesco Acerbi and his own goal lead the opponent by 4-0. In two minutes, Lazio made a successful attack and Joaquin Correa made the final score 4-1 but it was too late for Lazio to comeback against them.
Lazio manager Simone Inzaghi expressed;
“Unfortunately, we’d said this week with the lads that we should play our game. We felt the occasion too much, we were tense against the world champions, but we basically scored three of the four goals for them,” Inzaghi told Sky Sport Italia.
In the first half, a tackle was done by Bayern Munich in their penalty box which was called for a penalty but the referee’s decision was against it.
“If the penalty had been given for 1-1, that might’ve changed the game, but none of it went our way tonight. We can learn from this experience in order to grow and be stronger in the future.”
“Disappointment in the locker room is natural, but it’s already an achievement for us to be here. In games at this level, you need to be at 100 percent, to do everything right and hope the opponents aren’t at their best.”
“We knew the kind of team we were facing. I think we’d started well before the error for the opening goal, and there should’ve been a penalty when it was still 1-0.”
“If we look at it, we’re talking about the Club World Cup winners and we scored three out of four goals for them. You can’t make those mistakes at this level.”
“Nonetheless, I think we had shots on goal too. Nobody is saying Bayern didn’t deserve to win, but it was already complicated anyway and then our errors made it even more of an uphill struggle.”
Robert Lewandowski, after the match: “It’s a good night when you score four goals. I maybe didn’t have that many chances, but I tried to get into the right positions, and overall that early goal was important.”
Hansi Flick, Bayern coach to the media: “Everyone fulfilled expectations today. We wanted to put them under pressure from the off, which we did well. We won the ball high up the pitch and created plenty of chances as a result. We’re very happy.”
Pepe Reina, Lazio goalkeeper after the game: “It’s a bad night. We had prepared differently. Now, of course, we need to react and carry on our momentum in the league.”

Chealsea beat Atletico Madrid in UEFA Champions League clash

Chelsea surprised Atletico Madrid last night as they beat Atletico Madrid by 1-0 in UEFA Champions League’s tie last night. Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud’s 68th minute is the difference between the two sides. The French striker scored a sensational ‘Bi-Cycle’ kick goal last night.

However, due to covid-19 regulations, Atletico Madrid was forced to play their home leg in a neutral venue against Chelsea. Both teams went with the strongest XI they had. In 68th minute, the French striker broke the deadlock to seal the ictory for the English side.

Atletico Madrid were not in their best yesterday . The Rojiblancos failed to register a single a shot on target last night. After the match, Atletico boss Diego Simeone was asked about whether there is any chance of a comeback in the second leg. In responce, the Argentine said, “Looking three weeks ahead is too far.”

“We have a lot of games until then. We’ll be playing against an opponent with speed and will need to be able to stop it, to deal with forwards like Giroud and other powerful players.”

“We need to have more of the ball and position ourselves better in attack. We’ll work on it, but we also have an important game against Villarreal. Work, work, work. I trust the team we have. If we were in the month of September and they told me we’ve lost but we’re still leading, I’d sign for it.”- he added.

The second leg of the tie is on 17th of March. Chelsea will miss two of their key players, Mason Mount and Jorginho, as both of them are out with yellow card suspension in the second leg. It will be tough fight for both the teams to cement their place in the last 8 of the competition.

FC Barcelona showing interest on Real Sociedad star Alexander Isak for a long term target

FC Barcelona is showing interest in Real Sociedad striker Alexander Isak for a long-term target. The Swedish striker has shown immense talent in la Liga Matches.
FC Barcelona at this moment facing difficulties in their attacking qualities. After replacing their main striker Luis Suarez, they tried different players to fit in that position but they don’t have a proper striker to perform in big games.
They couldn’t make a proper formation and their Lionel Messi is lacking on a supporting player.
The Catalan giants tried to make a link with Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland in the next 12 months, but a move for either player could trigger a world record fee.
After COVID 19 pandemic in the 2019-20 season suffered a lot in the financial department. And Barcelona’s current financial condition is such that they can’t even properly pay the salaries of every player. So, it can be a fair decision to go for a low-budget transfer in this Summer market.

According to ESPN, FC Barcelona wants Isak for a long-term transfer for their striker position until the summer of 2024. He is holding a release clause of €70m, also former club Borussia Dortmund may call on the €30m buy-back option to replace Erling Haaland, the superstar forward that Barcelona was keen to recruit last January.
Isak’s performances have been tracked by Barcelona scouts since October 2020. The current sporting directors Ramon Planes set every plan for the transfer market and combing it to make decisions not worrying about whoever president will be.
Alexander Isak scored 16 goals in his first year for La Real and this season he showed an impressive return of 12 goals in 20 games. Starting off the season was bad for him but made a hat-trick comeback against Alaves.
Also, Erling Haaland eyed by Barcelona this season, this could be a high budget transfer if the Spanish Giants could make their decision with the Borussia Dortmund Superstar.

Chelsea winger Hudson-Odoi dreamed to be ‘feared’ Premier League player

Callum Hudson-Odoi showed his brilliance as a winger in the Chelsea Junior team throughout his under 23 team career. This 20 years old Young player did 31 goals in 55 starting appearances in various age groups.
Hudson-Odoi joined Chelsea in 2007 and made his under-18 debut in August 2016. On 20 December 2017, Hudson-Odoi first appeared in Chelsea’s first-team substitute in their EFL Cup against Bournemouth but unfortunately, it was not his debut as he remains an unused substitute throughout the match. And next on 28 January 2018, Hudson-Odoi made his first-team debut in the FA Cup match against Newcastle United in the 81st minute as a replacement of Pedro and Chelsea lead that match in 3-0. His Premier League debut was on 31 January against Bournemouth as a substitute unfortunately it was their home loss in 3-0.

Callum Hudson-Odoi faced difficulties and ups and downs in junior teams as he says,
“In the academy days, when you’re seeing numbers like that you’re like ‘wow’ and you want to try and replicate that in the first team as well but it’s obviously a much tougher league and it’s hard to get goals.”
“You want to be that player who every team fears and where you have a target to get a goal or an assist for the team in every match you play, to help the team as much as possible because that contributes at the end of the game. You scoring or assisting helps the team win so I look at it like that.”
“If I can get a goal one game and then maybe the next game I get an assist and the next game a goal again, it’s helpful for all aspects. I want to be one of those players that you know are regularly on the scoresheet.”
He determined to be ‘feared’ in his premier league career which he started just two years ago. He sets his goals what to be in next as he says, “I feel especially playing as a wing-back or in a winger’s position, you want to be getting to the back post and getting those tap-ins.”
“Every goal counts at the end of the day so no matter what it is, you want to be getting on the scoresheet or getting assists and helping the team as much as possible.”
“I’ve said to myself that whenever I’m around the box, I want to be more clinical and more ruthless, take my chances when they come, and hopefully hit the back of the net more often. The tap-ins are the best ones to get at the back post on the blindside of the defender.”
“I haven’t set a specific target for myself but I just try to score as many as possible. It’s good to know we’ve got the players around who are capable of getting the ball into the back post as well for those tap-ins or finding cutbacks or playing crucial passes to get you in on goal.”
“I’ve just got to make sure I keep getting in those positions to try and get a shot away and hopefully that goes in the back of the net.”

Mbappe’s breath taken hat-trick wondering us about, which one is the best ever Hat-trick in Champions league?

There was always a debate around a topic about which one was the best hat-trick. Because more than 90 players scored a hat-trick in the UEFA Champions League history. It is very difficult to identify which one is the best ever, some of them are breathtaking, some are fastest; also there are some hat-tricks which gave a great comeback.
The first hat-trick was against IFK Göteborg and took by Marco van Basten in a 4-0 lead in 1992. After that so many were taken, some players did multiples also.
Both the GOATs each have 8 Hat-tricks in their pockets in their Champions league carrier. Where others like Mario Gomez, Luiz Adriano, Robert Lewandowski, and Neymar have 3 Hat-tricks in each of their pockets. Also, Ronaldo, Messi, Luiz Adriano, and Mario Gómez did multiples in one season, which also keeps a record.
Also, the fastest hat-tricks were there some in between 8 mins, 9 mins, 11 mins, and 12 mins also. Ronaldo, Sterling, Lewandowski, and some players are the owners of this fastest Hat-trick record.
Here comes in this big list which became with many wonders. There are some hat-tricks we can mention.
Leo Messi scored 4 goals against Arsenal in 2010 which made history. That was a rainy day, Messi was in destroying mood he scored his first goal by dodging 4 players and scored from outside the box, next was a poorly cleared ball in the Arsenal penalty box, young Messi took the opportunity and finished it successfully. The third one was a through ball, Leo took a long run and scored by a lofted kick and finally dodged 3 defenders in the penalty box tried to score and shot saved by their goalkeeper, the ball deflected again the Magician scored it between the goalkeeper’s Leg. Which one I think one of the greatest goals ever.

In 2013, against Real Madrid, Robert Lewandowski’s four-goal score was one the greatest performances in Champions League History. He showed great brilliance, one in across a sliding finish another finish in Marco Reus’s assist, made an outrageous turn until found the top corner, and lastly a smashing penalty.

Manchester City hasn’t many remarkable days in the Champions league but Kun Aguero’s Hat-trick marked that day when he scored a hat-trick against Pep Guardiola’s Bayern Munich in 2014. He scored in a penalty later Manchester was 2-1 down then Kun Aguero wondered the world with two back-to-back finishes which were unbelievable.

Another remarkable Hat-trick was done by Thiery Henry against Roma will live long in the history of football. The first one shows the beauty, the second was a clinical left-footed shot and the last one was a perfect Free-kick.

Also, the Big brother, known as Ronaldo Nazario made history in the 2003 quarter-finals, Real was beaten 4-3 at Old Trafford but Ronaldo’s Pace and Power just washed away Manchester United that night.

At the age of only 18 years, Wayne Rooney played his debut for Manchester United and smashed Fenerbahçe with three with all outside the penalty box which shows the real power also one of the greatest Hat-tricks.

Manchester United has travelled to Turin for UEFA Europa League clash

Manchester United will face Real Sociedad tonight in the UEFA Europa League Round of 32 clashes. As an ongoing restriction of the COVID-19 pandemic, the game will be played in a neutral venue. Both the teams have already traveled to Turin for the clash.

Both the managers have provided an early update on their plans and teams ahead of the Europa League tie.

Manchester United has some serious injury issues before the tie. Paul Pogba, Donny Van De Beek, and Edinson Cavani are out of injury. A question mark over the involvement of Anthony Martial and Scott McTominay as well. Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer told that Pogba will be out for few more weeks. He said, “Paul is recovering well.”

“He’s starting the treatment but it will still be a few weeks. He won’t be playing in February, that’s for sure, it’s still a few weeks before we see Paul definitely.”

“Apart from that, we have a couple of doubtful ones, if they’ll be fit enough – Anthony and Scott.”- he added.

“Donny and Edinson are injured, unfortunately, muscle injuries, so they won’t travel.”

Manchester United has included Amad Diallo and Shola Shoretire to face the Spanish club. Ole said they are there to make an impact. He said, “Yeah they’re in the traveling squad. Not just for the experience, they’re there to make an impact if they have to. The two boys have done well in training and they are talents that we want to give experience to. First of all, they’re traveling, and then let’s see if they come on the pitch.”

“It’s one of the things we do with our youngsters. They come in and they travel, step-by-step, layer-by-layer and suddenly they’re on the pitch. That’s the thing – we do have a plan and a program in place that we try to stick to. Obviously when there are injuries or absentees or illness then maybe they’ll get the chance before we expected, but the two of them have done well.” -he added.

On the other hand, the Real Sociedad boss Imanol Alguacil has confirmed Carlos Fernandez is out of the game but Adnan Januzaj and David Silva should be involved. Former Premier League player Nacho Monreal (Arsenal) and Mikel Merino (Newcastle United)  can be featured as well.

Barca destroyed by Kylian Mbappé at home | Barcelona vs Paris Saint-Germain Match report, Champions League Round of 16, Leg 1.

The last time when Paris Saint-Germain met FC Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League, Barcelona washed away PSG with a score of 6-1 and after the end of both legs, the aggregate was 6-5 and PSG were knocked out after having a huge lead in the first leg. PSG was faced huge criticism after that huge loss.
Now back to Yesterday’s clash between the Spanish Giant and PSG in the UEFA Champions League first leg.
It did not look like PSG had any motive to punish Barca by giving a massive comeback in the first half. In the first half, the score remains 1-1 draw. Both the team got several chances to score. But Blaugrana’s attack and midfield play were more accurate than PSG, they did more counter-attacks, better midfield control.
Pedri the young kid had a clearance off the line on a shot from Mauro Icardi which was a great move also K.Navas saved a chance made by Griezmann at the end of a great team move.

In another attack, Barca got a penalty kick and successfully scored by Messi when on a long Ball Frenkie De Jong was challenged by Layvin Kurzawa. Also, in four minutes The Parisians made an equalizer when MBappe showed his brilliance by dodging Gerard Pique on a pass from Marco Verratti and finished with a perfect shot on goal.
Barca made a more direct approach than PSG, Dembele gave a lot of effort to finish a score but the score remains unchanged at the end of the first half.
In the second half, the scenario was fully changed Mauricio Pochettino already understood that it couldn’t possible by his first plan. He showed his brilliance in his next plan to beat the weak Barca defense. Pique just returned from his injury, Koeman didn’t change any plan in the second half no understanding was made in the defense line of Barcelona.
Like the first half, no proper counterattack was made by Blaugrana, the game was getting more congested and become more complicated for Barca at that time. Where, Mauricio used the beauty of MBappe, the attacks from the PSG side were going more concentrated, Mbappe used his pace to defeat Blaugrana’s defense. A long ball found Alessandro Florenzi all alone inside the box, his cross was poorly cleared by Piqué, Mbappé was first to the ball and scored his second goal of the game. After five minutes, Moise Kean scored a free header and PSG had a two-goal lead.
Barcelona made different substitutions to make them a more fresh and stronger team but it was quite late. Also, Barca goalkeeper Ter Stegen was a bit nervous yesterday, he missed several clears and lastly destroyed by Mbappe when great teamwork was shown by Julian Draxler and Mbappé, the third goal in Mbappe’s pocket.
This game indicates that Blaugrana really needs defensive reinforcements and hard work to execute their plans.

Now, from tomorrow Round 1 Group of 16 will be played. Every week 4 games will be played and it is divided into two games each day means two days in every week Champions League Round of 16 will happen.
Tomorrow will be the first day of the first two matches of the round of 16 will happen.
The first match will happen between RB Leipzig and Liverpool at Puskás Aréna. It will be the first competitive match between The Red bulls and The Reds. Leipzig is unbeaten in their last six home matches in the UEFA Champions league whereas Liverpool is unbitten in their last five away games against the German side.
In RB Leipzig side the first eleven will be Gulácsi; Klostermann, Orban, Upamecano; Mukiele, Sabitzer, Kampl, Angeliño; Nkunku, Olmo; Poulsen.
Where Forsberg is out for his knee Injury also Laimer for knee and Szoboszlai for the groin.

Where Milner for hamstring Injury, Matip for ankle Injury, Keïta for hamstring Injury, Jota for knee Injury, Gomez for knee Injury, Van Dijk for knee Injury are out.
Also, Fabinho (muscular), Davies (knock), Kelleher (knock), Origi (hamstring) are doubtful.
It’s obvious that Liverpool is facing so much pressure for their health conditions. Many gems of their team are out for injury Van Dijk, Origi, also others took a vital role in last season League. Whereas Leipzig will come skipping Laimer who also takes the vital role. Now, who will perform well will be the question.

Another high-pressure match will between Barcelona and PSG on the same day which is tomorrow at Camp Nou.
The Spanish Giants have knocked out Les Parisiens in each of their last three UEFA Champions league Knock-out ties. So it can be more precious to the Paris SG.
In Barcelona side Ter Stegen; Dest, Mingueza, Lenglet, Alba; De Jong, Busquets, Pedri; Messi, Griezmann, Dembélé will be the first eleven.

It can be a comeback match for PSG but the main scorer Neymar is out, also their hidden gem Di María is out also. So, moments can be crucial when it comes to the scoring opportunity for a team, and a finisher like Neymar if not available it can be much harder. Whereas Piqué is not there on Barca’s side. So the defense can be on the weaker side for Barca. Also, Araújo and young wonder Ansu Fati is not there so Barca have also a pressure to perform without those gems.
Another day of this week will be the 18th of February where the other two matches will happen.
The first match of that day will between Porto and Juventus at Estádio do Dragão.
the Dragons have never beaten Zebre in five previous encounters in European competition. They did draw for once and lose four times in the previous battles.

For Proto this Match will be very vital they have to win because the match will happen in their home ground. The home ground match always goes on the easier side because they know their side also the pressure for this type of vital match is less than the away matches but for Juventus, the main worry will be their away match where players like Dybala, Arthur are not present.
And the last match of this week of Champions League round of 16 will between Sevilla and Dortmund at Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán.
BVB have won none of their last ten away matches against Spanish opposition in UEFA Champions league whereas RED-Whites have hosted German opposition 12 times in previous European completion and lost only one.
In Dortmund side Hitz; Morey, Akanji, Hummels, Guerreiro; Can, Delaney; Sancho, Reus, Reyna; Haaland will be the first eleven.

Where Acuña for thigh, Navas for muscular, Ocampos for ankle are out.
This match becomes pivotal for BVB because they lost more away matches against Spanish opposition. Also players like Meunier, Bürki is not present in the first eleven which can be harder for an away match which comes with more mental pressure. For Sevilla it is also not an easy game if the opponent is German blood, they can change anything in no time, lets match will tell everything.

Solskjaer is not ready to give up the title race yet

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer refused to give the title hopes despite the draw against West Bromwich Albion yesterday.

Manchester United was held by West Bromwich Albion last night. The game ended in a 1-1 draw. Manchester United found themselves behind within 81 seconds of the game as Mbaye Diagne gave West Brom an early lead. But Bruno Fernandes came to the rescue again for the Red Devils. The Portuguese midfielder scored a volley to equalize the score.

After the match, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was asked as to whether he felt West Brom’s goal should have been ruled out for a foul on Victor Lindelof. He told Sky Sports, “It’s something we knew would happen from the kick-off – we knew they’d put us under pressure and put in a few throw-ins. They put a cross in and the boy finished well.”

“As an ex-striker, I’d say that was a goal. But in a recent game [against Burnley], Harry [Maguire] got on top of a defender and that was [judged as] no goal. It’s just clarity and consistency. I’m not saying that’s a foul.”

“The goal we scored is the way we put pressure on them. We did get down the sides sometimes but didn’t have anybody to tap them in. One of these days we weren’t there where we should have been.”

“We should play better but we gave ourselves a tough start. You have 90 minutes to make amends but we didn’t build that momentum until late in the first half.”

Manchester United are now in the second position in the Premier League table. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men are 7 points behind Manchester City. Manchester City has a game in hand as well.

After the game, the Manchester United boss was asked about the title race. He refused to give up the title to the ‘Noisy Neighbors’. He said, “I said we shouldn’t be talked about [in the title race]. A compliment to the boys we got into the position we are now. We won’t let them [Manchester City] run away with it – we’re playing them soon. We’re not giving it away early – no we’re not.”

FC Barcelona will lose another €5m for Dembele in their money crisis

FC Barcelona signed Ousmane Dembele on 25th August in 2017 as a replacement for Neymar who was sold on 3rd of August for €222m. Barca’s plan was to put Dembele in Neymar’s position alongside Messi to make a future trip, then Suarez was playing in Centre Forward role.
The Spanish giant bought Dembele in €105m and a €35m of add-on based on his performance and on 28 August, he had his medical and signed a five-year contract, with his release clause set at €400 million.
In his 100 appearances for the Spanish giant, the French winger has scored just 25 times. His injury issues have affected him in his career. Barca bought Coutinho later Griezmann to fill the gap.

Already 3 seasons passed after Dembele become a Barca player, yesterday night Alaves match was his 100th match. As per the contract Barca has to pay €5m of add ons of €35m to the Dortmund, which is the former club of Ousmane Dembele in every milestone like 25th, 50th, 75th, and 100th Match.
€20m as a total Barca already paid in 100th appearances to the Dortmund as a deal. The following €10m they have to pay if Barcelona would have to win the Champions League twice.
In the first season, Barca thinking about the loss of buying Dembele because of his performance. No combination was built between the team and Dembele, but he is such a gem if we see some performances he gave to Barca. He is rising late better to say also can a future approach if he can continue his rising.
But Barcelona at this moment facing big trouble with their fund. Barca doesn’t have the least fund to pay Messi his fees which is over €500m also they have to extend some of their player contracts in the upcoming year 2021-2022 also, Dembele’s contract will end on 2022.
May Barca sell some of their players to get the funds and recover their financial crisis. Dembele has to give his best performance and show more to confirm his future with Barca.

Leicester’s comeback game kicked-out Liverpool from the top 3 of Premier League

Leicester City made a 3-1 win against Liverpool in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon. In the first half both the goalkeepers maintained the score 0-0 rather they were lucky enough to maintain that. On the Liverpool side, Henderson’s sharp vision made a chance to give the ball to salah in one versus one position but Pereira’s pressure became the cause of losing control of the ball.
Reds maintained their play controlling the mid, in 17 minutes of the match injury knocked the Liverpool plan when Milner signaled, he could not continue Thiago came.
Another attack when Thiago’s out step cross head by Mane came to make Alexander-Arnold’s forward pass deflected by Kasper Schmeichel made a chance to Firmino to made a close finish but again blocked by Kasper Schmeichel.

But Vardy’s several counter-attacks made the situation getting tougher for the Reds in the first half. Unfortunately, he didn’t score but his attempts were remarkable. He made a volley which unfortunately hit the crossbar was a chance to take a lead in the first half.
In the second half, Firmino’s dodge pass in the D box of the Leicester made a beautiful finish done by salah. Liverpool took the lead but can’t hold for longer when Maddison’s free-kick made it 1-1 on the score table.
Also, this was a clear offside as Jurgen Klopp made his opinion. But after the VAR decision taken the referee cleared it as a Goal.
The last crucial 12 minutes was perfectly utilized by the Foxes when again Tielemans cross was cleared by Alisson outside the box and Vardy picked the ball and scored an open goal. Vardy’s unstoppable becomes a score at that moment.
Again, Barnes made a fast attempt by dodging the defense of Liverpool and scored a beautiful goal which gave Leicester a 3-1 lead.
But in this game, too many injuries were handled by Klopp. Two back-to-back substitutions were made where Ozan Kabak replaced the injured Fabinho to make his debut while James Milner came into midfield for Thiago, who was on the bench.
But after the match ends Maddison criticized after telling “we’ve got a lot of injuries but you won’t hear about them because we’re not the big 6”. Also,
“We know, when we play Liverpool, it’s going to be tough, because they can build and pass, and be direct as well,”
“It’s a case of staying in the game. We’re a top team now, we’ve got quality, and if we get chances, we can put them away. It showed because in 10 minutes we turned the game on its head.
“Alisson is obviously having a bit of a tough time at the moment, but I’m sure he’ll be back. I’m just glad we could take advantage of his mistake.”
Jurgen Klopp told BBC Sport afterward: “It was a clear game that we should win. We played good football, dominated possession, took the game out of Leicester but apart from that we were really top in the game.
“We scored a goal, could have and should have scored more, whatever. Everything fine and then the penalty, free-kick, offside, not offside, goal. That had a proper impact. That is something that has to change. The first goal for me is offside. The difference is we think it’s an objective thing but it’s not.”

Dayot showed interest in Bayern over the other deals he got from the other clubs in the last few months. Upamecano wants to stay in Bundesliga and wants to continue his career in Bayern for the next years.
At the same time, Bayern is also facing difficulties in the defensive side, which is not performing well also as per the report also Bayern will face the biggest problem in finding the replacement of their defender David Alaba.
Bayern’s club director Hasan Salihamidžić confirmed in quotes given to Bild on Friday night

“We know we have very tough competition. Upamecano is a young player, 22, whose qualities are already exceptionally developed.”
Bayern will sign Upamecano with a five years contract after paying €42.5m to their competitor RB Leipzig.
“I was always convinced that we had a good concept. We presented him with our vision of his career at Bayern.” Hasan Salihamidžić said to the Bild.

FC Bayern Munich won the Sextuple

FC Bayern Munich becomes the second club in history to win the ‘Sextuple’ after FC Barcelona did the same in 2009. The German giant beat the Mexican club Tigres UANL by 1-0 yesterday in the FIFA Club World Cup final.

Ben Pavard’s goal, just before the hour mark sealed the victory for the Germans.

After making history, FC Bayern Munich boss Hansi Flick was delighted with his team’s performance. He said, “Congratulations to my team. They have completed a historical feat, they have won six titles in one season.”

“Even for the successful club that is FC Bayern München, this was the most successful season ever. The team played outstandingly.”

“The win was never in danger, we dominated and deservedly won the final.”

“It was very difficult for me as well, we were all at the limit, the same goes for me at the touchline. The match against Tigres was on eye-level, even though we dominated.”- he added.

“They deserved to be in this final.”

With this win, Hansi Flick sets a new record of winning more trophies [6] than the matches lost [5].

Jurgen Klopp took the responsibility of Liverpool’s poor form

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp took all the responsibility for the poor form of his side.

Liverpool lost against Burnley last night by 1-0. It was their first defeat at Anfield in the Premier League since April 2017. The 83rd minute’s penalty from Ashley Barnes sealed the 3 points for Burnley yesterday.

Liverpool was not in a convincing form recently. The defending champion failed to score in the last 4 games and a total of 438 minutes without a goal. They have gone four league games without a goal for the first time in 21 years. They are now 4th in the table with 34 points, 6 points behind the league leaders Manchester United.

Jurgen Klopp’s men took 27 shots yesterday but failed to break the deadlock. After the game, Jurgen Klopp took all the responsibility. In an interview with Sky Sports, he said, “We lost the game which is pretty impossible but we did it.”

“That is my fault. It is my job to make sure the boys have the right feelings and confidence. That didn’t work out.”

“We had the ball a lot and created some situations that are OK but our final decision is not right. I said the same thing last week. When something doesn’t work you must try harder, longer, and more often and make better decisions. It didn’t work tonight.”

Klopp thinks that it is his responsibility to tell the players to move the ball in a way so that it can hurt the opponent. But he failed to do that.

“It is always my fault. If I make clear which movements make sense because it will hurt the opponent and we don’t do that then I need to make it clearer. It is not that they don’t want it. It is difficult to play against these low blocks.”- he added.

“It helps if you score the first goal but we didn’t. That changes the opponent. After not scoring for a long time not everybody feels confident.”

“I never thought of us as free-scoring. I knew we had to work hard. It is not the first time or last time it will happen in football.”

“We can only use this game for the next one. It is not because the players do not have the ability. Our decision-making is the problem. If we score in our big moments it changes things but we did not.”

Liverpool has some big games coming up. They will face Manchester United in the fourth round of the FA Cup on Sunday.

Sheffield United boss is delighted after the first victory in the league

After a long wait, Sheffield United finally claimed their first victory of the season against Newcastle United yesterday. Sheffield United has already set some negative Premier League record this season. This is the longest ever winless run in the top flight of England.

Sheffield United won their first game after the 18 games this season. They are now bottom of the table with 5 points.

Sheffield boss Chris Wilder is so relieved after his squad claimed the first victory. Chris said, “I thought the performance was good.”

Newcastle midfielder Ryan Fraser was sent off at the 45th minute of the game. Wilder said, “It might get talked about that the sending off made it easier for us to dictate the gamer and obviously the penalty. I felt it was coming, first half especially we set the game up to give us a foothold to go and win the game.”

“I thought we had an identity.”

“I’ve talked to the players about it. We have slipped a little bit but that was us. Handbrake off, playing well and going for it. I was delighted with the performance it’s a big result because of the length of time we have not had one.”

Chris Wilder is now hoping to continue the form and save the relegation.”We can’t waste it. We have been after one of these results for a long, long time.”

“I have said it all along I think that has been coming.”

“We have lost so many games by a single goal and we need to take our big opportunities and we took our big opportunity and we kept a clean sheet as well.”

“Delighted for Aaron but we have to build on it. I am a down-to-earth manager and we are back tomorrow and working towards a huge game on Sunday.

“I want us to be competitive in terms of performances and results and we have shown that we are that competitive side.

“A lot of teams would vouch for that but the obvious fact is that we have not won for a long, long, time and that is always the thing that everybody looks at and most importantly I do.

“We used Saturday. It might not look a spectacular result at Bristol but it helped the players and they used that to take it into tonight and now the key is to take it forward.”

Paul Pogba’s winner sends Manchester United at top of the table

Manchester United maintained their unbeaten away form at Turf More to claim the top spot in the Premier League table. The Red Devils are seeing themselves at the top after the first 17 games in the league. They now have 3 points lead over Liverpool.

Manchester United took on Burnley for all three points yesterday. In the first few minutes, Burnley was dominating the game. But Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s man quickly adapts to the situation and dominate the game afterward. The first half ends in a 0-0 draw with some VAR controversies. Harry Maguire’s goal was disallowed as well.

In the second half, Manchester United started to ask more questions to the home team. In the 71st minute, Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba broke the deadlock with an excellent volley from Marcus Rashford’s cross.

After the game, Pogba said, “We know that the game today was very hard, very difficult and obviously we wanted to win. We know it’s not easy to play here. We got the three points and we’re happy about that but there’s still a long way and now we focus again until the end of the season.”

“I’m always happy when I win – today we won and I’m happy we play well. Still, a long way to go and we have big games to go so we have to focus on that.”

The French midfielder also admitted that the decision made by the VAR and officials went against them yesterday. He said, “Obviously it’s hard but you have to be professional and we knew it wasn’t going to be easy with the decision of the referee which I didn’t agree with.” “But I’m not the boss on the pitch so we just have to keep calm and keep focused and of course we scored and won the game.”

On Maguire’s disallowed goal he said, “It was a goal for sure – I don’t know what happened. It was a beautiful goal and the referee decided that it was not. It was a strange decision but we got the result we wanted so we’re happy.”

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer also disappointed with the VAR decisions. Ole said, “You’ve got to calm them down at half-time because emotions are running high because they disagree with the things that happen out there.”

“So, we have to take back control and we played really well in the second half and we held out at the end.”

“I’ve not watched any of the decisions so I can’t really say. Might’ve been a foul by Luke apparently so that’s probably the right decision, definitely not a foul for Harry for his goal. If you can’t jump and head it in like this, I don’t believe that’s anywhere near a foul. Delighted with the response after a bit of a tough first half-hour.”

The Norweigan also delighted with Paul Pogba’s performance. He said, “I’ve always said Paul is a big player for us, he’s a good character in the dressing room, he’s someone the lads look to, he’s a world champion.”

“We’re seeing the best of Paul at the moment – he’s been injured and he’s had COVID so it’s natural to need to get back to fitness after that.”

Manchester United are now top of the Premier League table after the new year for the first time since 2013. That was the last season of Sir Alex Ferguson and Manchester United went on to lift the title that season.

The Red Devils will face the defending champion, Liverpool, on Sunday. But Solskjaer is hoping to get a good result from Anfield as well.

He said, “Of course we know we’re going to the champions. They’ve had an unbelievable three seasons so we’re ready for it.”

“But we’re ready and we’re excited, we’re hungry for it and it’s a test of character and quality again. We’re in a good position going into it.”

Three Manchester United players are out of the Burnley game

Manchester United has a great chance to take the lead in the Premier League from Liverpool. The Red Devils will take on Burnley tomorrow. Manchester United are now joint leaders with Liverpool in the league. A draw will put them at the top. But Manchester United will surely go for a win.

But before the Burnley clash, Manchester United has got some serious problems. After the FA Cup match against Watford last Saturday, Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer revealed that three players of the first team are out in the clash against Burnley. The players are Paul Pogba, Victor Lindelof, and Luke Shaw.

Solskjaer said, “I hope so. I hope all of them for Liverpool, definitely.”

“I’m not sure if they’ll make the Burnley one.”

“It’s light training and then we’ll have to see on Monday.”

Baily was also injured in the FA Cup tie. He was substituted in the 49th minute and Harry Maguire took his place. Later Ole confirmed it was just a concussion and he would be fit for the Burnley game.

Alex Telles was also excellent against Watford on Saturday. He will replace Shaw against Burnley for sure.

This will surely be a very important game before they faced Liverpool on the 17th. The Red Devils want to face the defending champion as the table toppers.

Juventus missed the chance to sign Manchester United’s new wonder kid

Manchester United recently confirmed the signing of Ivorian international Amad Diallo from Atalanta. Amad will wear the number 19 shirt at Old Trafford previously worn by Marcus Rashford in the early days of his career.

After long speculation since the summer, Manchester United finally completed the deal last week. The 18 years old is a highly rated emerging talent. Atalanta wanted him on loan till the next summer but Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer refused to let him go on the loan.

Manchester United is lucky to land him. But Juventus was also in the race and had a great chance to sign him.

When Amad was 13, he joined the Italian club Boca Barco. His performance got the eyes of the scouts. Juventus called him in their trials 3 times. But he failed to please the Juventus coaches in every attempt.

Boca Barco president Enzo Guerri said in an interview, “Diallo started out in our youth team, from 2014 to 2015, when he was 12 to 13 years old, and even then you could tell he had something more than the other.”

“Atalanta certainly weren’t the only club to set their sights on him. There was a queue of scouts coming to view him from all over Italy.”

“Amad had three trials in Turin with Juve, just as he was called in by Reggiana, Sassuolo, Empoli, Roma, and of course Atalanta.”

“I remember a Roma scout came to view him, and after five minutes when Diallo chested down the ball to continue his run, the scout turned around and left. I asked him what was going on and he replied: ‘Only potential champions do that at the age of 12. Seeing him in this game won’t help, he has to train with our kids at Roma.’

“However, from the first day, Atalanta had him training with those a year older than him. Amad was always destined for greatness.”

“He had trials with everyone until he found the right club for the big step in his career. Atalanta is something of an exception in Italian football, as very few clubs here are prepared to put their faith in young players.”

Atalanta captain Papu Gomez already rated the youngster as good as Lionel Messi. United fans are already optimistic with their new addition. Everyone is waiting to see the youngster wearing the Red jersey with a ball in his feet at Old Trafford.

Jurgen Klopp does not want to waste money in panic buy

Jurgen Klopp is not ready to waste money for any kind of ‘short-term solution’ following a panic buy. Since his joining, Jurgen Klopp has followed a philosophy to make a team for the long term that is able to dominate the world.

But Liverpool is in a crisis this season with their defensive issues. All the senior center backs of the team, Virgin Van Dijk, Joe Gomez, and Joel Matip are injured. Fabinho is playing as a center back for the Reds.

Liverpool is linked with Ozan Kabak, David Alaba, Sergio Ramos, and Sven Botman to solve their defensive issues. Among them, Sven Botman is highly linked with Anfield.

Liverpool will face Aston Villa in FA Cup 3rd round tonight. In the pre-match press conference, Klopp was asked about the addition in defense in the January transfer window. The Liverpool boss said, “I cannot say definitely we will not bring one in, it’s just not likely because of the situation in the world.”

“We should not forget that the situation is a tough one for all people and for football clubs as well.”

“There might be some clubs with absolutely no financial problems, but this club is always very responsible for the things we do.”

“If the world would have been in a normal place and the club was in the best possible situation, with three senior center halves plus Fabinho and (Naby) Keita all injured, is that a situation where usually we would do something? Yes, definitely.”

“But, we are not in that situation so I don’t know if something will happen or not. Maybe you could do something, but it wouldn’t be a short-term solution. That’s not right because it doesn’t help really.”

“We have to deal with the situation, as we have done so far, and get through this. It’s not the best moment for the whole planet, so why should it be for a football club?”

Liverpool is now the joint leader with Manchester United with 33 points and gets the upper hand over their rivals in goal difference. Though the Scousers have played a game more than the Red Devils.

Amad Diallo is a Manchester United player now

After a long wait since last summer, Manchester United finally confirmed the signing of Amad Diallo from Atalanta. The deal was done on the last day of the summer transfer window. But that cannot be finalized due to the passport issue of the youngster. So, Manchester United wasted no time to finalize the signing.

Today Manchester United officially announced the signing of the 18 years old youngster. The Young winger was excellent in his time at Atalanta and caught the eye of the Red Devils. Atalanta wanted to keep him on loan until next summer. But Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer refused that and told him he wants to start the work with Amad Diallo as soon as possible.

Solskjaer was delighted after the signing of the youngster today evening. He said, “As a club, we have followed Amad for a number of years, and having watched him myself, I believe he is one of the most exciting young prospects in the game.”

“Manchester United has such a proud history of developing young players and everything is in place to enable Amad to reach his potential here.”

“It will take time for him to adapt but his speed, vision, and fantastic dribbling ability will stand him in good stead to make the transition. He is a player with all of the raw attributes that are needed to be an important player for Manchester United in the years to come.”

It’s a dream come true for Amad Diallo as well. The Young Ivorian said, “After waiting since the summer, it is finally a dream come true to complete my move to Manchester United. I am hugely ambitious and there is so much that I want to achieve in the game; when I spoke to the manager I knew that I had joined the perfect club.”

“This is a really exciting squad with so many great players, I can promise that I will work hard every day to learn from them and give everything to develop my game. The coaches have been fantastic since I signed, we have been in touch regularly and they have already given me a lot of great advice.”

“I have had time to prepare for this move, both physically and mentally, and I have worked really hard to be ready to make the step up to this amazing club.”

His shirt number at the new club will be decided soon and will be announced in the next few days.
