Liverpool had relished a strong start to the new campaign as they registered emphatic and intimidating wins in the the first six games in all competitions before the looking little off colour at Anfield. Jurgen Klopp, Liverpool’s boss has admitted that his miscalculations and change in tactics is what cost Liverpool the game against Southampton.
Klopp was really confident that his side will handle the change in tactics well and the alterations wouldn’t affect the momentum the club has but that was not to be.
Jurgen Klopp decided to rest James Milner and Xherdan Shaqiri was brought at his place. Though Liverpool won the game 3-1, Klopp feels that the performance could have been better and his team suffered due to his decisions.
He admitted that the changes didn’t go well and the team suffered because as he changed the system.
Klopp further explained that Shaqiri was impressive but the team seemed to be struggling with its organisation.
He clarified further that the problems faced could be seen in the communications on field but then the team switched to a system which is well known to it.
Klopp also stated that the ability of Liverpool to adapt to the changes made by him was affected by the battling elements of Merseyside.
He felt that the team was not at its best in did not seem like a threat to the opposition which has otherwise been the case in recent games. He further added that staying concentrated in an intense game can be a tough nut to crack at times.

Klopp The Liverpool boss also added to his argument that the team did not get the chance to practice the changes tactics due to weather conditions in Liverpool.
He expressed his elation at winning seven games in a row but is wary of the tougher challenges that will come ahead.
