Manchester United shuts up the critics again, courtesy of Bruno Fernandes

After lots of criticism last week, Manchester United finally respond to critics again with their performance. They beat Carlo Ancelotti’s Everton by 3-1 at Goodison Park by 3-1. Bruno Fernandes’s brace and Edinson Cavani’s first goal sealed their 7th consecutive away wins in the Premier League.

Manchester United was highly criticized for its recent performance against Arsenal in the Premier League and İstanbul Başakşehir F.K. in UEFA Champions League. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has made some changes in the starting XI. David De Gea, Victor Lindelof, Scott McTominay came back into the squad again. Anthony Martial also came back after 3 match suspension following a red card against Tottenham Hotspurs last month. Manchester United also changed its formation today. They switched back to their 4-2-3-1 formation again today.

Manchester United was gone down in the 19th minute. Bernard scored for Everton. But Manchester United was quick to respond and pulled up an equalizer. Bruno Fernandes headed into the net from Luke Shaw’s cross in the 25th minute. After the equalizer, United keep putting pressure and Bruno Fernandes scored his second in the 32nd minute. Everton failed to break the deadlock again and Edinson Cavani scored his first goal in a Manchester United shirt and sealed the victory for the Red Devils.

Manchester United is now 13th in the Premier League Table with 10 points from the first 7 games. They are now 6 points behind the top.

Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes was in a mood today. He led the team to a perfect victory after a tough week. The win was highly needed for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side to boost up their confidence.

Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand was delighted with the Portuguese’s performance. He was more impressed to see his leadership in the field. He said, “There are different types of leaders – there are people who are vocal and organized, when the ball is out of play they are organizing and getting in the right positions on the pitch.”

“That’s one type of leader. Another is like a Steven Gerrard, who organizes by going out and playing and leading by example.”

“There are very different kinds of leaders in the game and I don’t think Manchester United have enough leaders in general across the board.”

“He [Fernandes] falls into the category of leading by example, of going out and putting in goals and creating loads of chances.”

Manchester United’s No. 18 sacrificed his hat-trick to sets up a clear goal-scoring chance for Edinson Cavani. The Uruguayan striker took the opportunity and scored his first-ever Premier League goal.

“I don’t need to think about a hat-trick. [I set up Edinson Cavani because] for a striker it is important to score for his confidence, he will be important for us and the first goal will give him confidence.”- Bruno said to BBC Sport after the match.

Manchester United are now unbeaten in away games domestically from January since their 2-1 loss against Liverpool at Anfield. This sets a new club record for Manchester United.
