Ole Gunnar Solskjaer appreciates his team’s performance against Leeds

Manchester United won the 108th ‘Roses Derby’ quite comfortably last night. The Red Devils beat their rivals by 6-2 yesterday.

Scott McTominay gave Manchester United the desired lead with a quick brace in between 3 minutes of the game. After that Victor Lindelof, Daniel James scored one each and Bruno Fernandes scored a brace to make it more humiliating for the visitors.

Manchester United was excellent yesterday from the very first minute of the game.  The Red Devils have created so many chances to trouble the Leeds United defense.

After the match, Ole Gunner Solskjaer said, “It could have been 12-4. It was that kind of game. That was fantastic from the first minute – we had a plan to get after them, go forwards when we had the ball and Scott McTominay got two goals in the first three minutes. We found a way of getting them going – just imagine if there were 75,000 people in, it would have gone down in history as one of the great performances against Leeds. We had to earn the right by running as much as them, that’s a challenge. I enjoyed it, it was frantic, hectic. No matter what the score is they have a certain attitude or style if they are 5-0 up or down.”

“I’m very happy with the way we created chances – our skill, some fantastic moves. But yes, sometimes you look at it and think: ‘Put the ball in the goal.’ But I can’t be greedy, Anthony [Martial] and Marcus [Rashford] didn’t get on the scoresheet and they’re our main strikers, so this is good.”

Manchester United are now unbeaten in the last 7 games and won 6 of them. They are now 3rd in the table with 26 points. They are now 5 points behind Liverpool who are sitting at the top. United has a game in hand though to reduce the gap.
