Andy Murray will be once again putting his fitness through a test by playing at the Nature Valley Tournament. This tournament will be the ultimate warm-up event before the Wimbledon gets underway on July 2.
Making a comeback after almost a year, he faced Nick Kyrgios at the Queen’s. The three-time Grand Slam winner was defeated by the Australian opponent. A year of suffering from his hip injury and indecisiveness has kept him away.
The former world number 1 will decide for Wimbledon 2018 given how his fitness goes in the Nature Valley Tournament which will be played from June 24 to June 30 at Eastbourne.
Another Players in Nature Valley Tournament:
Stan Wawrinka has also accepted a wildcard at the Nature Valley Tournament. The Swiss tennis star too is returning from a prolonged injury. The likes of Kyle Edmund, Denis Shapovalov and Feliciano Lopez will also feature in this tournament.
Feliciano is Queen’s 2017 champion. So, given such stiff competition even at the Nature Valley Tournament, can Andy Murray make his comeback count? The 31-year-old former world number 1 has a lot to prove to his fans as well as himself. Will he be seen at Wimbledon 2018? Or will he skip Wimbledon to recover from his injury?
