Andy Murray will return to the court with Washington Open

Former world number one tennis player of United Kingdom Andy Murray will return to the court from the Washington Open starting on Monday. According to a report, this will be the first match since Murray’s departure from Wimbledon, where he will meet local player MacKenzie McDonald in the very first match of his American tour.

If 31-year-old Andy Murray wins the first round, then in the second round, he will play against his compatriot Kyle Edmond. Earlier in this month only, Murray had withdrawn  from Wimbledon saying that his right hip injury is not perfectly fit and he is not fit to play in the Grand Slam.

The British player had earlier returned to the Queen’s Club in June, which was his first tournament a year later, but he was sent out from the first round only. N. Kyrgios defeated him in the first round of at Queen’s Club 2-6, 7-6, 7-5.

Meanwhile, the Cincinnati Masters, which is going to start from next month, has given Murray a wild card entry to the tournament. in the Cincinnati Open, Murray will have a good chance to test out its preparations for the US Open. The US Open 2018 will begin on August 27.

Zverev to defend Washington Open title:

German star player Alexander Zverev will defend his title here in the Washington Open tournament starting from this Monday. In the year 2017 Alexander Zverev won the title defeating Australian Jordan Thompson in the final.
