Serbia’s tennis player Novak Djokovic will try to reach the top of the ATP rankings by winning the Paris Masters, starting this week. Rafael Nadal, number 1 on the ATP rankings, will be on the court for the first time after the US Open.

In this tournament, 20-time Grand Slam champion Roger Federer can also return three years later. Federer said that he will take decision till Tuesday if he participates in this.

The Swiss player won his career 99th tournament in his hometown last week but due to the injury and decision to play in select competitions, he has not played in Paris Masters after 2015.

Djokovic is returning to the Paris Masters this year

Djokovic also had not played in Paris Masters due to the injury last year and he was out of the top-10 rankings for the first time in the last 10 years. His ranking was 22nd in June. But now he has won 27 out of the 28 matches and has reached number two in the rankings after his return on the court.

Djokovic, who has won his 14th Grand Slam title at US Open, said, “I have played my best game at the US Open and Shanghai. I am enjoying my game because when you are winning you are more confident.”

He further said, ‘I am very happy with what I have achieved in the past 4-5 months.”

“Due to the injury of Rafal Nadal could not play in the Shanghai Open and some other tournaments, so that I have the opportunity to reach number one in the rankings by the end of this year,” he showed hopes.
