French Open: 3 Times Champion Serena Williams will enter Roland Garros without seeded

The Legendary US tennis player Serena Williams will not be seeded in the second Grand Slam of the year. Serena will enter Roland Garros without seeded this time. French Open, the Second Grand Slam of the year is starting from May 27.

36-year-old Serena returned to the court in March this year after six months of her child born. Former World No. 1 Serena’s ranking has fallen to 453.

Serena’s return was not good and she had to face defeat in the opening round of the tournaments played in Indian Wells and Miami. After this, Serena did not take part in the Madrid and Rome Masters held at Clay Court.

“French Open is punishing Serena Williams for having a baby,” USA Today headline and criticising the organizers for not seeding the 23 time Grand Slam singles winner Serena.

The French Tennis Federation says that Roland Garros will be based on WTA rankings. For 32 seeded female players, the WTA rankings will be given priority. According to the organizers, the rankings of this week will be given preference during seeding process.
