Italian Open: Nadal’s comfortable win, Djokovic looks back in form

Spain’s legendary Tennis player Rafael Nadal easily defeated Canadian teenager Denis Shapovalov in the quarter-finals of the Italian Open tennis tournament. Nadal defeated Shapovalov 6-4, 6-1. The 31-year-old player will now next meet with F. Fognini of Italy in quarterfinals.

Fabio defeated Germany’s Peter Gojowczyk 6-4, 6-4. If Nadal succeeds in winning his eighth title here, he will again become the World No. 1 player in place of Roger Federer in the ATP Rankings.

Meanwhile, Djokovic made it to the quarter-finals of the tournament for the first time since Wimbledon in July last year. Novak Djokovic showed a glimpse of returning in the form by reaching the final 8 of the tournament for the first time in 2018.

He beat Spain’s Albert Ramos Viñolas 6-1, 7-5. Djokovic, who won four titles in Rome, had to stay outside the court for six months because of an injury before the Australian Open last year.

Other Result of Men Singles.

Alexander Zverev of Germany, who defeated Djokovic in the final of Italian Open last year, also reached to the final eight. But he had to sweat to defeat Britain’s Kyle Edmund 7-5, 7-6 (13/11).

Zverev’s next match will be with Belgium’s David Goffin, who made it to the quarter-finals defeating the fifth-seeded Argentinian Juan Martin del Potro in his pre-quarterfinal match.

Spain’s another player made it to the quarter-finals as Pablo Carreño Busta defeated Aljaž Bedene 6-4, 6-7, 6-2 in a tough challenge. Now Pablo will face Marin Čilić of Croatia, who defeated French star Benoît Paire 6-3, 6-4 in straight sets.
