World No. 4 Alexander Zverev has confirmed the arrival of Ivan Lendl in his team as a coach just before the US Open 2018. US Open is the final Grand Slam tournament of this season and Zverev wants to put his everything in front to win it.
The 21-year old German sensation has won three Masters title till now and now eyeing the grand slam title. Getting Ivan Lendl as a coach is one step towards the grand slam from him.
Ivan Lendl himself could not have won the grand slam title until he was 24. He won his first grand slam after loosing 4 finals in grand slams. Lendl was also the coach of British Tennis star Andy Murray. He helped him to win 3 grand slams under his coaching.
Alexander Zverev posted a photo with Lendl on Instagram and welcomed him in his own manner. He quotes “Welcome to the team Ivan Lendl.”
Lendl was quoted “Sascha has a unique set of skills and a great work ethic so I am looking forward to helping him achieve his goals.”

At Cincinnati Masters when Zverev was asked about his coaching staff then he denied the fact of making any changes. He said “I don’t have any coaching changes right now, that’s not what I mean, but in the future, yes for sure I think he’s someone who can help.”
