Roger Federer Might Lose His World No. 1 Spot to Rafael Nadal Again

Roger Federer moved to the top of the rankings again after winning the semis at Stuttgart. He then went on to win the Stuttgart Open and add his 98th Singles title to his illustrious career. But now to remain ahead of arch-rival Rafael Nadal, only Stuttgart Open win is not enough. Roger Federer will have to win the title at Halle as well.

If he has to remain at the top of the rankings then he must win the Halle trophy or Rafael Nadal may take the top spot again.

The man with 20 grand slams, Roger Federer reached Halle on Monday for another successive week on Grass. He already has 9 Halle Titles to his name and now to remain at the top he must win his 10th Halle title.

If he doesn’t win the title he would be again surpassed by Rafael Nadal. Roger Federer’s win in Stuttgart and Nadal’s decision to not play before Wimbledon has helped Federer’s cause of reclaiming the top spot but his lead over Nadal is very slim.

The Statics:

Roger Federer currently has 8920 points while his arch-rival had 8770 points. He is set to lose 500 points in the next week and only a win in Halle can ensure his stay at the top. Even if he ends up being the runner-up he would be 50 short of Nadal’s tally. Can Roger Federer win the Halle title for the 10th time?

Roger Federer has always been excited about challenges. Let us see if the Swiss star can live up to this one.
