Shenzhen Open 2018: Murray and Norrie made it to quarter finals

Britain’s tennis player Andy Murray has made it to the quarterfinals of the Shenzhen Open 2018 by defeating Belgian David Goffin on Thursday. According to BBC channel report, Murray beat Belgian player 6-3, 6-4.

The British star are recovering from injury after a long time. He is battling with injury in the lower back. In the next match, he will be confronted by the Spain’sĀ Fernando Verdasco who beat Japan’sĀ Taro Daniel in a tough battle 3-6, 6-2, 7-5.

Fernando Verdasco had defeated Murray in the US Open in August. After injury Murray had returned to the US Open, the final Grand Slam tournament of the year. Since then, he is trying to get his old form.

Andy Murray, the winner of Shenzhen Open 2014 said after match that, “I felt like in terms of the way I hit the ball, it was the best I’ve played, and I think I knew that I was going to have to hit the ball very well if I wanted to win.”

Norrie also made it to quarter finals of Shenzhen Open

Earlier, Britain’s another tennis player Cameron Norrie has entered the quarterfinals of the Shenzhen Open by defeating Croatian player Borna Coric. According to a media channel report, World No. 73 Norrie beat Coric in the men’s singles category pre-quarterfinals.

Norrie defeated world number 18 Coric 6-4, 7-6 (10-8) and reached the final-18 where he will face Japan’s Yoshihito Nishioka.

Nishioka defeated Canadian player Denis Shapovalov in his pre-quarterfinal match. Nishioka defeated Shapovalov 7-6 (7-5), 3-6, 7-5 to make it to the quarter-finals.
