Wimbledon 2018: Roger Federer and Serena Williams are in the quarter-finals

Defending champion Roger Federer has made it to the quarterfinals of Wimbledon for the 16th time. On Monday, he beat France’s unseeded player Adrian Mannarino 6-0, 7-5, 6-4 in the pre-quarterfinals.

8 time All England champion Federer has reached the quarter-finals of any Grand Slam tournament for the 53rd time. Federer will meet the South African start Kevin Anderson, who bear G. Monfils of France 7-6, 7-6, 5-7, 7-6.

The 36-year-old Federer has a 4-0 record against the US Open 2017 runner-up Anderson.

Serena Williams managed to continue her journey:

American star tennis player Serena Williams has entered the quarterfinals of Wimbledon,  the third Grand Slam of the year on Monday. The 23-time Grand Slam champion Serena beat Russia’s Evgeniya Rodina in the fourth round match of the women’s singles category.

Former Wimbledon champion Serena beat her 6-2, 6-2 to move to the last-8. In the quarter-finals, Serena will face Italy’s Camila Jorge, who beat Russia’s Ekaterina Makarova 6-3, 6-4 to meet Serena in quarter-finals.

Good News for India from quarterfinals of Wimbledon:

Divij Sharan of India and Artem Sitak of New Zealand, pairing in the Wimbledon men’s doubles category for the second consecutive time, reached the quarterfinals by winning 5 sets. Sharan and Sitak beat Israel’s Jonathan Erlich and M. Matkowski of Poland 1-6, 6-7, 6-4, 6-4, 6-4.

Now they will be facing the pair of America’s Jack Sock and Mike Bryan. Earlier, Sharan and Sitak had also entered the pre-quarterfinals in the last round by defeating Julio Peralta and Horacio Zeballos.
