Yuki Bhambri is knocked out of Busan Open, Balaji is also out of Samarkand Challenger Singles Event

India’s top tennis player Yuki Bhambri was eliminated from the Busan Open on Thursday by China’s Zhang. After winning the Challenger title in Taiwan, the second seed, Yuki, suffered a 4-6, 3-6 loss to China’s 265th ranked player in his first tournament.

This is Bhambri’s first defeat against this opponent. This was the third match between India’s Yuki Bhambri and China’s Ze Zhang.

Samarkand Challenger:

N. Balaji will now try his luck in the doubles, where he has paired with Vishnu Vardhan. Balaji and Vardhan will face the pair N. Milojevic and T. Gabashvili in quarterfinals on Friday.

India’s another doubles team N. Prashanth and S. Myneni will meet D, Istomin and M. Elgin in quarterfinals of Samarkand Challenger.

Heilbronn Challenger:

In the meantime, in the Heilbronn Challenger of Germany, India’s Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan and his Austrian partner Tristan-Samuel Weissborn made it to the quarterfinals with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Dustin Brown and Darian King.

But in the quarterfinals on Thursday, the pair lost the match against the Belgian pair of J. Vilegen and S. Gille.
