Max Verstappen. The action moved to the Red Bull Ring after the French Grand Prix and qualifying sessions were too hot to handle. Valtteri Bottas took the pole position in the qualifying followed by Lewis Hamilton but it turned out to be a miserable outing for Mercedes. Red Bull finished in the first spot at home with Verstappen winning.
Red Bull’s Max Verstappen finished first followed by Kimi Raikkonen of Ferrari at the second spot and Sebastian Vettel of Ferrari at the third.
Vettel managed the third spot despite being penalised for three places after the qualifying race. Romain Grosjean finished fourth followed by his Haas teammate Kevin Magnussen.
Daniel Ricciardo had to pull out of the race. While Max Verstappen won the race, it was a terrible day for teammate Ricciardo.
A Terrible Day for Mercedes
Lewis Hamilton who won at the French Grand Prix lost his car’s power and he had to quit the race in the 63rd lap. Before that, in the 44th lap, Bottas’ race too had come to an end. It was a double blow for Mercedes.
Fernando Alonso had some luck going his way and he finished 8th followed by Charles Leclerc at 9th. This can be called the most unexpected race of this year. After starting from the pole position and confident of engine updates, Mercedes took a double blow at the Red Bull Ring.
