Charles Leclerc is slowly making a place for himself in the exquisite world of F1 racing. The 20-year-old finished 10th in the Canadian Grand Prix at Montreal and he has shown that he is here to stay. Born in Monaco, Charles Leclerc made his maiden mark in F1 racing December 2017. He became the part of the Sauber F1 team as a regular driver and his dreams got new wings.
How His Career Shaped:
Before this, in 2016 he became a driver with the prestigious Ferrari Driver Academy as a development driver. He started his career with Karting in 2005.
The young boy then went on to win the French PACA championship for three successive years in 2005, 2006 and 2007. As a grown-up lad, he bagged the GP3 series championship in 2016 and followed it up with FIA Formula 2 championship in 2017.
Son of a racer:
Charles Leclerc is the son of a famous Formula 3 racer. His father Herve’ was a part of the F3 circuit in the 1980s and 1990s. he died of prolonged illness at the age of 54. Charles Leclerc also revealed recently that Jules Bianchi is his godfather.
Jules Bianchi drove for the Marussia F1 team. In October 2014 he met with an accident during the Japanese Grand Prix and went to coma followed by his death on July 2015. He died at a very young age of 25.
Leclerc is consistently doing good and is confident of getting better and better. He now has 10 points in 2018. He seems to be in the race to replace Kimi Raikkonen in team Ferrari when Kimi probably leaves in 2019. Experts are lauding him big time and his Ferrari dream may come true soon.
