FIFA World Cup 2018: Argentina Announced Final Squad for World Cup

Mauro Icardi, who scored 29 goals in the Serie-A league for Inter Milan, is not included in the Argentine 23-member World Cup final squad. Team coach Jorge Sampaoli announced the final team for FIFA World Cup 2018, which did not include Icardi.

Paulo Dybala and Gonzalo Higuain have been included in the team. Both of these players have been included in the forward line of Argentina for the World Cup along with Lionel Messi and Sergio Aguero.

In this Argentina team, 8 players from the 2014 World Cup finalist team have been included. It’s noteworthy that Argentina was defeated by Germany in the Final match of the World Cup 2014.

Due to a knee injury, goalkeeper Sergio Romero is out of the World Cup tournament this time. Romero, who was Argentina’s goalkeeper in the last two World Cups, suffered a right knee injury.

Romero suffered a knee during training with the team on Tuesday. The Argentine Football Association (AFA) informed about this in a statement issued on its official website. Nahuel Guzman is called in as a replacement of Romero.

The Argentine team will take part in the training session in front of the audience on May 27 at the Wales Sarsfield Stadium. Two days later, they will leave for the Bombonera. After this, on June 9, they will participate in a friendly match against Israel.
