FIFA World Cup 2018: Portugal’s Team announced for the Biggest Clash of Football in Russia

Portugal’s 23-member team has been announced for the FIFA World Cup 2018 which is to be held in Russia. National coach Fernando Santos gave young Andre Silva and Goncalo Guedes to play with superstar Cristiano Ronaldo.

Forward Eder and Nani have not got a place in the Portuguese team for this year’s FIFA World Cup. Andre Gomes has not been included in Portugal’s 23-member team. Injured midfielder Danilo Pereira has not been included in the team as well.

Gomes participated in the European Championship UEFA Euro 2016 along with Eder and Nani. Portugal had won this championship. Not only these players but all total 10 members of the Portuguese team which won the European Championships 2016 in France, could not get a chance to play for Portugal in Russia.

Portugal is in Group B with the former champion Spain along with Morocco and Iran for the FIFA World Cup 2018. Before the main round, Portugal has to play friendly matches with Tunisia, Belgium and Algeria.

The Team of Young Players:

Alam is that Record 5 times Ballon d’Or winner 33-year-old Ronaldo and 34-year-old Ricardo Quercas are the only players in the Portuguese attack who are more than 30 years of age.

There are mostly young players in this team. 21-year-old midfielder Gonçalo Guedes has been impressive while playing for Valencia in the current season in Spanish League.
