Pierre Gasly Likely To Replace Ricciardo At Red Bull

Pierre Gasly. Fans still find it hard to believe that Daniel Ricciardo actually ditched Red Bull for Renault. He stunned everyone when he announced the move to race for Renault in the 2019 F1 season. While it was largely anticipated that he will extend his stay at Red Bull racing beyond the 2018 season.

Sources suggest that Pierre Gasly of Toro Rosso is tipped to replace Daniel Ricciardo at Red Bull Racing. So, Max Verstappen can soon find a new racing partner in Pierre Gasly. As per Red Bull searches for an apt replacement for Ricciardo.

Daniele Ricciardo went about signing a two-year contract with Renault leaving Red Bull dejected. Some suggested that he did not want to remain a shadow of Max Verstappen and hence moved to Renault in the quest for being a team’s primary driver.

The 22-year-old Frenchman, Pierre Gasly made his debut at the 2017 Malaysian Grand Prix. He finished 21st in 2017 with no points to his kitty. Before being signed by Toro Rosso to make his debut in 2017, Pierre Gasly was picked in 2015 by Red Bull Racing as a reserve driver.

Looks like this time he would not just be a reserve driver for Red Bull Racing but rather find himself in the shoes of Daniel Ricciardo.

All eyes on Red Bull

Now it only remains to be seen if Red Bull actually replaces Daniel Ricciardo with Pierre Gasly or not. Red Bull was also eyeing Carlos Sainz but he would now be replacing Fernando Alonso at McLaren.
