Valtteri Bottas grabs the pole position at the Austrian Grand Prix

The Austrian Grand Prix gets underway on Sunday amid high buzz. The Red Bull Ring is all set for the Grand Prix. Valtteri Bottas grabbed the pole position for the Austrian Grand Prix as he outsmarted teammate Lewis Hamilton.

While Lewis Hamilton took the pole position at the French Grand Prix, its Bottas who would start from the pole at the Red Bull Ring.

Following Valterri Bottas on the grid will be Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton followed by Kimi Raikkonen of Ferrari at third. 

Max Verstappen will take the fourth position ahead of Grosjean. Sebastian Vettel will be sixth at the grid followed by Daniel Ricciardo of Red Bull. Lewis Hamilton lost the pole position to an error committed on the very first lap. 

Sebastian Vettel penalised 

Sebastian Vettel, the championship rival of Lewis Hamilton was once against penalised by stewards. He was found guilty of blocking the way for Carlos Sainz of Renault. He was penalised for 3 spots on the grid and would now start from the sixth position. 

Even in the French Grand Prix, he was penalised by the stewards for crashing into Valterri Bottas of Mercedes. He was penalised for 5 seconds and then finished 5th. 

Vettel however later clarified that he wasn’t warned and couldn’t even see Sainz in his mirrors. But he was still penalised by the stewards. Red Bull has a lot to worry as on its home track Verstappen and Ricciardo will start from 4th and 7th positions respectively.
