Will Charles Leclerc Replace Kimi Raikkonen in 2019 F1 Season of Ferarri?

Charles Leclerc is all set to replace Kimi Raikkonen at Ferrari. Charles Leclerc will be seen taking Kimi Raikkonen’s spot in Ferrari’s 2019 F1 season as per some credible sources. Last year Kimi Raikkonen bagged a one-year extension with Ferrari and now has he turns 39 in October Ferrari is keen to replace him with the rising star Charles Leclerc.

Another extension of his stay at Ferrari seems highly unlikely given his sputtering form.

Ferrari was initially keen to rope in Red Bull driver Daniel Ricciardo. Ricciardo’s contract with Red Bull will be elapsing at the end of 2018. However, considering the fact that cost of hiring Ricciardo would be too high it leaves it with a choice between Leclerc and Kimi Raikkonen.

Ferrari seems more than interested to rope in Charles Leclerc who is contesting his rookie F1 season. The young 20-year-old Charles Leclerc has been highly impressive. He has scored points in three of his last 4 races.

Leclerc has overshadowed his experienced teammate Marcus Ericsson with comfort and class. He seems a bright prospect to be the next big thing in F1. He has all that it takes to be sensation.

Problems for Raikkonen:

On the other hand, there’s been a dip in the form of Raikkonen. In the last races, he could not score the podium. His teammate Sebastian Vettel, in contrast, finished first at the Canadian Grand Prix and second at Monaco.

Ferrari is surely considerate of the ageing driver’s form. Will Sebastian Vettel find a new teammate in incredibly young Charles Leclerc?
